The middle of August has brought us to a rather quiet sports period, but nevertheless, you’ll get my insight and input on whatever is happening as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

Closing out the first week of August with a surprisingly packed podcast with enough sports chatter to pique your interest as the latest episode is forthcoming. On deck:

(6:30) The team with the best record in MLB is not who you think. History tells us that October hasn’t been nice to them over the past seven years. Could this year turn out different for the Milwaukee Brewers? The Yankees avoid another sweep and get out of Texas with a wild card spot in tact. As for Devin Williams pitching in late game pressure situations? The Mets are in a tailspin, losing 8 of 9 after a seven game winning streak. Will their fortunes change as they go to play the Brewers over the weekend? And all of the latest playoff races in baseball to date. 

(39:10) NFL preseason opens a full slate a games this week while the league’s TV network gets sold to the Worldwide Leader in Sports. Is that a good thing? Plus, the league wants nothing to do with issuing smelling salt to players, during practices or games, but players can purchase them on their own. Could there be long term effects and repercussions because of it? I’ll check in on whatever else is happening throughout training camp as of late.

(50:06) Who is the preseason #1 in college football as the season is a little more than three weeks away? 

(52:47) March Madness will not expand in 2026, but the possibility of having 72 or 76 teams in the tournament in 2027 could happen. Why having more doesn’t mean better if this were to become official?

(55:38) The first of three matchups in nine days commences on Sunday between the WNBA Finalists of last year (Lynx & Liberty) Will this be a showcase as to who is the better team in a possible championship rematch in late September?

With the 4th of July in our rearview mirror, it’s time to look ahead to see what the sports landscape has in store for us over the next hour or so as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

I make a brief mention about the Indiana Fever winning the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup without Caitlin Clark!

(43:51) The Florida Panthers are zeroing in on a rare three-peat in the NHL after re-signing three key players to their team. Plus, all of the other activity that’s taken place to date.

(49:34) Wimbledon has been a whirlwind with many top players upset, most notably, #2 Coco Gauff who didn’t make it out of the first round after winning the French Open last month. Then you had #3 men’s player Alexander Zverev lose a classic match, but the more important story is his mental health. How his eye opening post-match interview resonated with top women’s player, Aryna Sabalenka, in trying to seek help as he battles whatever he has going on off the court.

(1:01:32) Are the Steelers a threat in the AFC after a shocking trade that delivered both Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith from Miami?

With summer officially here, the sports universe will start to cool off a bit. But not too much to where I’ll have nothing to talk about. Ha! You know me, there’s always something to get off my chest when it comes to the world of competition as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

On the eve of summer and today being Juneteenth, a change is on the horizon as the sports landscape is about to look a little different in the coming days. I’ll explain in detail as the latest podcast is here. On deck:

(6:34) With the hockey season already completed, the NBA has the stage to close out its Finals tonight as Oklahoma City looks to capture their first championship, while Indiana hopes to force a Game 7 with or without Tyrese Haliburton. How will Game 6 unfold? The Lakers are being sold for $10 billion dollars. LeBron James doesn’t understand ‘ring culture’ in the sport as he addressed it on his podcast. Do we need to remind him that he was a big part of that?

(24:31) The Florida Panthers repeat as Stanley Cup Champions with another dominant effort in Game 6 over the Edmonton Oilers. Is this team already considered a dynasty? Where do we go from here regarding Connor McDavid and the Oilers, losing a second straight Cup Finals?

(42:57) Baseball is on the verge of becoming the only major sport left. What’s going on with the New York teams as both the Yankees and Mets are mired in long losing streaks? The latter, is about to embark on a weekend road trip to Philadelphia for first place in the NL East. Are the Dodgers about to take off in the NL West after taking the first three games vs. the Padres and a chance for a four game sweep today?

Counting down to the official beginning of another season, the best season of the year…yes, that is summer. But coming at ya faster than that is the latest episode with a TON of stuff to uncover in the sports world. On deck:

(6:42) OKC showed what they were made of in Game 4 as SGA’s big fourth quarter ties the series at two. How will Game 5 and the rest of the Finals play out starting tonight? There was a huge trade in the Association as the Magic go all in on former Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane. Is he worth two players and four unprotected first round picks? Also, the Knicks head coaching search continues and where does Kevin Durant end up?

(27:17) The Florida Panthers are one win away from going back to back against the Edmonton Oilers. Not even a crushing Game 4 defeat will slow down the defending champs as they dominated Game 5 on the road. Will this series go back to Western Canada in Game 7? Or will the Panthers wrap up another championship?

(40:44) The saga between the Red Sox and Rafael Devers came to an abrupt end with the disgruntled DH getting shipped to San Francisco for two pitchers and prospects. Was this a good move by Boston? Does this make the Giants contenders in the NL? Plus, it was a lost weekend for the New York teams as they were both surprisingly swept. And Shohei Ohtani will make his Dodgers pitching debut vs. San Diego. What should we expect?

(57:35) After what was a US Open to forget, one player came up from the rubble to win the tournament. His name is JJ Spaun. I’ll recap what turned out to be a slog and a wet one at that as the third golf major of the year is already in the books.

The first week of June has plenty of sports talk to dissect as I share all that’s swirling in my head, heart and soul as the latest podcast is here. On deck:

(50:15) The Mets-Dodgers series has been as advertised over the first three games. Will the Dodgers salvage a split in the finale? Break up the Rockies! They’ve won three in a row to increase their record to 12-50! Yankee reliever Luke Weaver is on the shelf for 4-6 weeks. How will manager Aaron Boone handle the back end of the bullpen?

(1:04:49) An exciting weekend is forthcoming at Roland Garros as tennis’s top players are still alive on both the men’s and women’s sides of the draw? Who’ll come out on top when it’s all said and done?

Kicking off the unofficial beginning of summer as we remember those who fought for our freedom in this country. Thanks to the servicemen and women who’ve done so. And thank you for being a part of this latest podcast with all that’s happening in sports. On deck:

(54:18) College football revises the playoff seedings from conference championship byes to normal seeding.

(57:01) Alex Palou is your Indianapolis 500 winner. The first Spanish driver to win at the Indianapolis Speedway.

We’re precisely a week away from the unofficial beginning of summer. Can you believe it? But we’re seconds away from the best sports podcast that covers EVERYTHING, that’s right, I said it. Why? Add Winnipeg to the list of teams that won the President’s Trophy without capturing a title as they lose in six to Dallas. And the Capitals fall way short of the Cup Finals after losing to the Hurricanes in five. I’ll preview Panthers-Hurricanes & Oilers-Stars and what Final would be the most attractive?

(54:59) Juan Soto’s return to The Bronx was forgetful as the Mets lose two out of three to the Yankees. The shocking Twins 13 game winning streak, which was snapped yesterday in Milwaukee. How about the Angels sweeping the Dodgers in LA? I’ll see what else is happening throughout the sport as Memorial Day looms next week.

(1:10:10) 49ers QB Brock Purdy signs a five year, $265 million dollar deal to stay in San Francisco. Is he worth it?
