The sports world gears up for another huge weekend as I’ll detail all that’s taken place and what’s forthcoming as the latest podcast is here. On deck:
(3:55) Could it be that the Cleveland Cavaliers are on the verge of making the Eastern Conference Finals? Their stunning win in Game 5 showed that they maybe ready to take the next step. Will they do it? Or will Detroit have something to say about it and push this series to a seventh game? I’ll check in on whether or not San Antonio will close out their series vs. Minnesota tonight. GM Daryl Morey gets the axe in Philadelphia and a couple of sad deaths to report as both Grizzlies guard Brandon Clarke and former player Jason Collins have both passed away.
(23:30) The Colorado Avalanche have punched their ticket to the Western Conference Finals shocking the Minnesota Wild in an epic comeback. Who will they face? Same could be said in the East as the Carolina Hurricanes await the winner of the Buffalo-Montreal series. There’ll be a new coach in Toronto as Craig Berube was relieved from his duties.
(31:44) MLB has its rivalry weekend upcoming, which includes the first version of the Subway Series between the Yankees-Mets.
(42:56) It’s NFL schedule release day. I’ll share what’s already been leaked as we get the full slate later on today.
(46:48) The second major in golf will commence today as the PGA Championship tees off outside of Philadelphia. Will last years’ winner Scottie Scheffler repeat?
(52:14) Horse racing takes a huge hit as Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo will not race in Saturday’s Preakness. Should anyone watch?
(55:18) Ronda Rousey makes her return to MMA as she’ll go at it with Gina Carano on Saturday night. How will this unfold?
