The temperatures are rising as summer approaches and so will the latest podcast bringing all of the sports heat that the casual or diehard fan will appreciate. On deck:

(3:51) Is this real? Knicks fans think so. The NBA Finals shifts to Madison Square Garden for Games 3 & 4 starting tonight. Is it premature to celebrate as this team hasn’t lost since late April? Could something turn their fate in a snap?

(27:18) Just three games in, this Stanley Cup Final is turning into a classic with comebacks galore. Overtime and double overtime games. Will Vegas go up 3-1 in the series? Or will Carolina make this a best of three and take back the home ice?

(38:33) Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is out indefinitely with a rib fracture. Is all well in The Bronx? Or could they possibly miss out on the postseason? Mets pitcher Freddy Peralta wants how much money as he enters free agency after this year?

(51:20) Alexander Zverev wins his first Grand Slam tournament taking the French Open in Paris. Does this win come with an asterisk? And congratulations to Mirra Andreeva on winning her first ever major tournament on the women’s side.

(58:33) Golden Tempo wins the Belmont Stakes, but because the horse didn’t run at the Preakness, I don’t want to hear his camp taking bows. I’ll explain.

(1:00:57) Are the Bears really moving to Northwest Indiana? Plus, more trouble off the field regarding some players.

And MUCH MORE in between.

There’s a championship feel to the latest podcast with an abundance of sports chatter to keep you informed on what’s happening throughout the landscape. On deck:

(3:40) Will the Knicks ever lose? It’s been six weeks to this point since their last playoff loss. Now they’re three wins away from winning their first title in over five decades after securing Game 1 of the NBA Finals? Is this finally going to be their year? Or will the Spurs bounce back and even the series?

(22:35) To a lesser degree, the same could be said about the Vegas Golden Knights after stealing Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals who have now won seven straight playoff games. How will Carolina respond as they try to tie their best of seven before heading to Sin City?

(30:16) There were some major transactions in the NFL over the past few days. None bigger than the Rams acquiring All Pro DE Myles Garrett from Cleveland. Are they already the favorites to win the Super Bowl? I’ll also talk about AJ Brown moving up the Northeast corridor from Philadelphia to New England and a few other signings that took place.

(41:23) MLB is chugging along in early June as the Rays have hit the skids, the Yankees can’t beat good teams, the Mariners have played better and Cristopher Sanchez’s scoreless streak is snapped headline baseball’s top stories.

(47:44) Aryna Sabalenka goes down at the French Open as her latest meltdown doesn’t get her to the semifinals. And if this isn’t the time for Alexander Zverev to win a major tournament, when will it be?

And MUCH MORE in between.

A new day, week and month kicks off the first podcast of June as I’ll spread the good fortune of breaking down all of the recent sports news throughout the landscape. On deck:

(4:20) The young, upstart San Antonio Spurs did the unthinkable! Winning the final two games of the Western Conference Finals to punch their ticket and face off against the Knicks in the championship round. I’ll unpack some juicy storylines, preview the 1999 rematch and offer insight as to how the series may unfold.

(33:01) Is this the year the Carolina Hurricanes finally reach the NHL mountaintop? They’re looking as dominant as any team we’ve seen in quite some time as they’ll host the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals tomorrow. I’ll preview and share my prediction as to who’ll raise the greatest trophy in sports when it’s all said and done.

(49:42) MLB has started to make progress towards a new collective bargaining agreement that’s set to expire in December. But was it really progress? You’ll be surprised by my answer to that question.

(1:03:22) Has there been a more exciting tennis tournament that you can recall than the French Open this year? I’ll uncover all of the upsets, top names that have been ousted and what can we expect over the second week of this Grand Slam?

And MUCH MORE in between.

May’s final podcast has a little something for every sports fan as I’ll share my thoughts on all that’s going on throughout the entire landscape. On deck:

(3:58) The NBA Finals are less than a week away. One team has punched their ticket, that being the NY Knicks. I’ll discuss their dominant run and what may lie ahead as they make their first trip to the championship round since 1999. They’ll await the winner of Spurs-Thunder as OKC is one win away from returning to defend their title. How will this all play out, leading to Game 1 on Wednesday?

(23:08) Speaking of Finals, the Vegas Golden Knights shock the world, sweeping the Colorado Avalanche into the offseason and have made their third Stanley Cup Final in nine years. What happened to the Avs as they were the best team in the regular season and started 8-1 in the playoffs? Now with the Carolina Hurricanes one win from clinching the East, can we start to look ahead at a matchup that will probably not generate a whole lot of buzz?

(38:22) There have been a few upsets at the French Open to some top names on the men’s and women’s side, but none bigger than top seeded and heavy favorite Jannik Sinner losing in five sets and ousted from the tournament.

(46:29) As the baseball season approaches the month of June, is it safe to say that we can put the Mets out of their misery after a recent terrible stretch, a silly dugout celebration and a team broadcaster that undressed the manager over a fundamental routine play?

And MUCH MORE in between.

The unofficial beginning of summer has arrived and so has the latest podcast detailing all of what’s happening in sports. On deck:

(4:17) As the first holiday of ‘summer’ has arrived, it’s been anything but in these parts over the past few days as it’s been MDW alright. Memorial Day WASHOUT!

(8:50) New York is ready to burst at the seams as the Knicks are one win from another sweep and the NBA Finals. As excited as the fans are, have they been overboard with their display of confidence? I’ll get into that considering I’m in the eye of the storm. And I’ll also check in on whether or not OKC could be on the verge of being dethroned as champs with the Spurs dominant effort in Game 4 has the Thunder battered and bruised.

(34:40) Could it be that the best team in the NHL is about to get swept out of the playoffs? That’s what we see to date with the Colorado Avalanche. I’ll explain how they got here and do they have any chance to turn this series around? Meanwhile, the Hurricanes escaped a 2-0 hole by winning in OT vs. the Canadiens. How will the two games North of the Border play out?

(46:10) We’re one third into the MLB season. I’ll survey the landscape to see where we’re at with all 30 clubs as we get a sense of teams that may contend and those who pretend.

(1:02:32) Is there anyone on the men’s side that’ll knock off Jannik Sinner at the French Open which commences today? How will the women’s side unfold with a very competitive field?

And MUCH MORE in between.

It’s going to be a loaded hour and change, with so much happening in sports, that you won’t know what hit ya. So get ready, set and let’s go as THISSSSSSSS…as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(6:53) Carlos Alcaraz rallies from a two set deficit to win the French Open in a classic vs. Jannik Sinner at the French Open. Is he on his way to immortality? How does Sinner deal with crushing defeat? Coco Gauff wins her first French as she surprises Aryna Sabalenka.

(31:11) OKC rebounds from a terrible Game 1 loss to even the NBA Finals at one. Will they earn a split in Indiana? Also, the Knicks are seeking permission to speak to Mavericks coach Jason Kidd. Why?

(46:18) Florida escapes Edmonton with a double OT win, thanks to Brad Marchand, as the series shifts to South Florida tonight. Will the Oilers find a way to get one of the next two? Plus, a coaching hire in Boston and one fired in Dallas.

(56:43) The Phillies are slowly slipping away from the Mets in the NL East, mired in a five game losing streak after getting swept by the Pirates. Are the Braves not going to fire this year as they’re ten games under .500. The Yankees lose two of three to the Red Sox as their pitching staff took a beating.

(1:09:57) Aaron Rodgers is officially a Pittsburgh Steeler. I guess I have to share my thoughts on whether this is a good or bad thing?

(1:18:15) The Belmont Stakes didn’t disappoint as Sovereignty wins over favorite Journalism, which begs the question, was this horse a Triple Crown threat?

The first week of June has plenty of sports talk to dissect as I share all that’s swirling in my head, heart and soul as the latest podcast is here. On deck:

(6:35) Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals was a thrilling ride as the Edmonton Oilers come from behind to win in overtime, 4-3. Was this a bigger win for Connor McDavid & co. or a crushing loss for the Florida Panthers?

(22:11) The NBA Finals finally tip off tonight in Oklahoma City. How much pressure is on the Thunder to seal the deal? Can the Pacers complete the magic carpet ride of a playoff run with their first championship? Also, the Knicks dismiss Coach Tom Thibodeau. Who’s to blame for this blunder?

(50:15) The Mets-Dodgers series has been as advertised over the first three games. Will the Dodgers salvage a split in the finale? Break up the Rockies! They’ve won three in a row to increase their record to 12-50! Yankee reliever Luke Weaver is on the shelf for 4-6 weeks. How will manager Aaron Boone handle the back end of the bullpen?

(1:04:49) An exciting weekend is forthcoming at Roland Garros as tennis’s top players are still alive on both the men’s and women’s sides of the draw? Who’ll come out on top when it’s all said and done?

There’ll be no June swoon as we introduce the newest month and get you set for a couple of Finals, baseball, tennis and whatever else the sports world has cooking as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(7:15) It’s Florida-Edmonton Round 2 as the Stanley Cup Finals commences on Wednesday. Will the Oilers get their revenge? I’ll go through the storylines and predict who’ll raise the Cup when it’s all said and done. I’ll also touch on another disappointing finish in the conference finals for the Dallas Stars.

(32:43) The Pacers reach the Finals for the second time in team history. And farewell to a surprising Knicks playoff run. Can they take the next step a year from now?

(45:58) The Yankees avoided getting swept in LA to close out a long trip. Up next? The other NY team as the Mets will invade Chavez Ravine for four games. Plus, what else is going on throughout baseball.

(1:04:15) The French Open commences week two with a lot of intrigue, despite there not being any major upsets over the past three days. What could we expect this week?

As we get closer to the beginning of a new month, we can start to see the ending of two sports ready to move on to the next round and crown a champion. Does this mean we’re getting closer to another sports dead zone? It’s starting to look that way, but have no fear, as I’ll cover all that’s taken place as the latest podcast is here. On deck:

(7:02) OKC punch their ticket to their first Final in 13 years with a big road win in GM 4 and dominant at home in GM 5. Can the Pacers polish off the Knicks in GM 5 tonight and meet the Thunder next Thursday? Is Anthony Edwards getting criticized way too much?

(30:31) The Florida Panthers have won their third straight Eastern Conference Finals. Will the Edmonton Oilers seal the deal in GM 5 this evening and set up a rematch of last year’s Stanley Cup Finals?

(44:43) Speaking of rematches, the Yankees will head into Dodger Stadium over the weekend as they’ll meet for the first time since LA captured the title in October last year. How will this series play out? Also, has Juan Soto hit rock bottom?

(1:00:23) Another big upset took place at the French Open this week as Daniil Medvedev lost in a thriller vs. Cameron Norrie. Plus, Alex DeMinaur calling for a shorter season? WHAT?!

(1:04:16) I couldn’t believe my eyes after reading a headline on a major sports website about the NFL is back? Well, almost!

Kicking off the unofficial beginning of summer as we remember those who fought for our freedom in this country. Thanks to the servicemen and women who’ve done so. And thank you for being a part of this latest podcast with all that’s happening in sports. On deck:

(6:57) Both the Knicks and Timberwolves get back in their respective conference finals. Can they get the equalizer to ensure that their series will go at least six games? I’ll also add in that Caitlin Clark will be out of the lineup for the Indiana Fever for two weeks with a quad strain. Who knows if this is a blip in her season? Or could this be re-aggravated sometime down the road?

(25:48) Are the Oilers and Panthers on a collision course for another Stanley Cup Final? With Edmonton up 2-1 and Florida looking for a sweep, it’s certainly looking that way.

(36:56) Two months of the baseball season is in the books. Where do we stand at the first main juncture of a long, marathon of 162 games? The Mets have a good weekend vs. the Dodgers and win their first series in almost two weeks.

(54:18) College football revises the playoff seedings from conference championship byes to normal seeding.

(57:01) Alex Palou is your Indianapolis 500 winner. The first Spanish driver to win at the Indianapolis Speedway.

I’m honored to welcome in a new partnership to the podcast. Are you familiar with Olipop soda?  Please go to www.drinkolipop.com, type in SODALOVE for 15% off of your purchase.

Pumped up and ready for another exciting week of content as THREE podcasts are on deck over the next four days. I’ll set the stage for what’s taken place and what to expect in the world of sports as the first pod is here. On deck:

(4:10) There’s some housekeeping in order as a new vlog is up on my YouTube channel, titled ‘I AM new media.’ It details the difference between new media vs. old media and my experience as a member of the new media. I unpack a lot and even call out a couple of new media members in the process. Plus, I have a special guest on tap for Wednesday as FOX Sports, ESPN & Big East Network sideline reporter, Kacy Standohar joins me to discuss her unconventional path in this business, her future, as well as, what’s going on in sports?

(6:24) The Boston Celtics are two wins away from winning their 18th championship in NBA history. Game 3 is Wednesday in Dallas. Will the Mavericks find a way to get back in the series? Or will the Celtics be one win away from back to back sweeps in the postseason? Also, is UCONN coach Dan Hurley going to announce whether or not he’ll be the next coach of the LA Lakers?

(24:01) The Florida Panthers have drawn first blood in the Stanley Cup Finals shutting out the high octane Edmonton Oilers offense, 3-0 in Game 1. I’ll explain how tonight’s Game 2 is a must for the Oilers if they have any chance of winning the Cup Final?

(30:04) A playoff atmosphere was in the Bronx over the weekend as the Dodgers visited the Yankees in a possible World Series preview. Why I thought and made this three game set a big deal? I’ll touch on the London Series between the Mets-Phillies. I’ll peek at the upcoming schedule this week as the Yankees visit Kansas City for four games starting tonight. The struggling Braves will go to Baltimore, while the Phillies visit Boston as there are plenty of interleague games this week. I’ll chime in with my over/under win totals to date which look very average at this point.

(46:33) Carlos Alcaraz is your French Open winner, coming from behind in both the semifinal and final to win his third major tournament. On the women’s side, Iga Swiatek won her third straight and fourth in five years at Roland Garros to show why she’s the number one women’s player in the world. How will she fare at Wimbledon next month?

(51:37) The Belmont Stakes had Dornoch win the final leg of horse racing’s third major race of the last six weeks.

(53:12) Scottie Scheffler won at The Memorial yesterday, (his fifth win on the Tour this year) with the US Open set to tee off on Thursday. Is he primed to win another major?

With the Finals on the horizon for both the NBA & NHL, I’m just getting started to discuss that and ALL that’s happening in sports in a jam packed podcast. On deck:

(4:15) The NBA Finals commences tonight. Boston is looking for Banner 18, after coming up short two years ago. While Dallas and their two headed monster of a backcourt (Luka Doncic & Kyrie Irving) are chomping at the bit to bring a title back to Dallas. I’ll have a complete breakdown and predict who’ll hoist the Lawrence O’Brien Trophy when it’s all said and done. Some breaking news coming out of LA has the Lakers making a massive push to lure UConn coach Danny Hurley to Hollywood. Could he possibly take the leap from college to the pros?

(30:54) On Saturday night, hockey will have the sports stage as the Stanley Cup Finals will drop the puck in Game 1 between the Edmonton Oilers-Florida Panthers. I’ll tap in with analysis on what the Panthers will do to slow down Connor McDavid & co. And what will the Oilers deploy to attack the defensive schemes of the Panthers? Could this be a long series? Short series?

(41:27) MLB has had an interesting week with some solid matchups that have been anything but (MIL-PHI, KC-CLE) but I and a bunch of baseball/sports fans are looking forward to the heavyweight matchup in the Bronx this weekend between the LA Dodgers-NY Yankees. I’ll go through the history of this rivalry dating back to the days where the Dodgers played in Brooklyn. There’s also a London Series taking place on Saturday & Sunday as the NY Mets-Philadelphia will face off against one another.

(55:47) Novak Djokovic had to withdraw from the French Open due to a knee injury. Is it set for Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz to secure their first ever French title? On the women’s side, Iga Swiatek is seeking her third straight and four out of five after disposing of Coco Gauff in the semifinals in straight sets.

(1:00:13) Some sad news in the world of the NFL as all time great, Hall of Fame guard Larry Allen passed away on Monday at the age of 52. Christian McCaffrey gets a two year extension through 2027. What about CeeDee Lamb? He’s searching a big payday, but stayed away from OTA’s this week. Will they meet eye to eye before kickoff in September?

(1:06:22) The Belmont Stakes will conclude the horse racing season this Saturday as Derby winner Mystik Dan and Preakness champ Seize the Gray will go up against favorite Sierra Leone up in Saratoga, NY and not Belmont Park.

June is in full bloom and so is the latest podcast as the sports world has the following to offer:

(4:12) Big picture on Stanley Cup Finals run for Edmonton & Florida with storylines (Oilers Connor McDavid’s first Cup. Panthers appear in back to back), with many more leading into Game 1.

(26:26) Same look for NBA Finals matchup between Dallas & Boston as Kyrie Irving’s return to Boston, Luka’s first Finals dance, Kristaps Porzingis’s health and revenge lead a few of the top headlines heading into Game 1 on Thursday night.

(46:34) The New York Yankees are on a roll. Aaron Judge has been crushing it, as well as, Juan Soto. Giancarlo Stanton has performed better this year than last. Ace Gerrit Cole will throw a rehab game tomorrow as he tries to get back in the rotation. But the reality is? How will the Yankees handle Soto’s contract demands and negotiations? What’s in the minor leagues? Also, remember who your manager is! Also, some key injuries in the sport. Darryl Strawberry’s number retirement and a look at the schedule over the early part of the week

(1:04:38) A record setting contract to a non-QB took place earlier this morning as Justin Jefferson re-ups with the Vikings for $110M guaranteed.

(1:07:21) Novak Djokovic wins late in the wee hours on Sunday (3:07am to be exact) Why is this acceptable? Can this be changed? Rearranging the start times to avoid such late conclusions of these matches?

(1:10:52) UFC’s Dustin Poirier falls short of earning the lightweight belt as he loses to Islam Makhachov Saturday night. Is this the beginning of the end for the legendary fighter?

Wrapping up another month of high octane sports talk and a rant you won’t wanna miss as the latest podcast is here. On deck:

(4:10) One team has punched their ticket to the NBA Finals (Boston Celtics). We’re still waiting for the other as the Minnesota Timberwolves kept their season alive with a Game 4 win in Dallas? Will the T-wolves extend the series to six? Dare I say, seven games? I’ll recap the Celtics Game 4 win over Indiana as they’ll have a ten day layoff before the start of the Finals next Thursday.

(19:15) The Stanley Cup Conference Finals have a lot of juice as both series are even at two games apiece. First up, the Panthers clawed back to even the series with a pivotal Game 5 at MSG tonight. Who’ll end up as the East Champs as this could end up being a classic Final? Out West, the Edmonton Oilers continue their unpredictable march as they lost Game 3 after being up 2-0 in the first period. In Game 4, the Oilers came back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the series. What can we possibly expect from a team that is a chameleon from one game to the next? Could it go seven games?

(30:37) MLB has implemented the statistics from the Negro Leagues to be a part of baseball moving forward. Why I think that was the right thing for the sport to do? I’ll get into another strange interference call in last night’s Yankees-Angels game. And I’ll continue my assault from Monday’s podcast to put to rest the 2024 New York Mets. Who’s at fault? What do I think the front office, ownership should do to this underachieving, embarrassing team? It’s a rant that comes straight from the heart and gut being a diehard Met fan.

(55:01) #1 women’s player Iga Światek survived a scare from Naomi Osaka in the second round of the French Open as she came back from a 5-2 deficit in the third set to win 7-5. Was it fair for Osaka to meet Swiatek this early in the tournament?

(57:29) There’s a UFC lightweight championship at stake on Saturday night as Dustin Poirier will go up against Islam Makhachev. Is there a Poirier-Conor McGregor bout somewhere down the road?

As we remember our fallen heroes on this Memorial Day, I’ll share with you the latest podcast detailing all of what’s happening in sports. On deck:

(4:13) The NBA is facing a big time conundrum. Both conference finals are one win away from punching their tickets to a Final. The issue is if both series conclude over the next 30 something hours from now, there will be nine days between the end of Dallas-Minnesota and Game 1 of the NBA Finals. What can the league do about that? I’ll get into how both the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks have gotten to this point. What does this mean for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Indiana Pacers? Do they have at least one big time game in them to extend these series? Also, why did the Cleveland Cavaliers fire coach JB Bickerstaff?

(24:52) The New York Rangers have rebounded after being shut out in Game 1 with two overtime wins over the Florida Panthers to take a 2-1 series lead. How will the Panthers respond to two tough defeats? The Dallas Stars have evened their series vs. the Edmonton Oilers after dropping Game 1 in double OT. Will the Stars continue their road dominance? What about the Oilers taking advantage of home ice? Off the ice, the Devils hired former Maple Leafs coach, Sheldon Keefe to man the bench over the next few years. Was that a surprise?

(33:30) As we approach the first barometer of the baseball season, there are only FIVE teams that can win a World Series. Baltimore, NY Yankees, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Los Angeles Dodgers. I’ll separate a lot of the pretenders and explain why these teams won’t be a part of the Fall Classic in October or even win it? NOTE: It was during this segment that I read the news of NBA great, Bill Walton had passed away due to cancer at 71. I spent a few minutes discussing his legacy and career. I had to unpack the Mets as being a team that’s a pretender for 2024. I’m not ready to bury them completely, but the dirt has already been thrown on them.

(51:34) Rafael Nadal made his return to a surface that he’s no doubt been the best player ever on it. The clay courts of Roland Garros at the French Open. He went in as a wild card (unseeded) and faced a formidable opponent in Alexander Zverev. He lost in the first round in straight sets. Could this be the end of Rafa as we know it?

(56:12) Josef Newgarden is your Indianapolis 500 winner for the second straight year. That hasn’t been done in 22 years. There was a little controversy surrounding a cheating scandal regarding a race strategist. Will there be any consequences over such a thing?

(58:05) I wrap up with some very sad news in golf as Grayson Murray, who had two wins on the PGA Tour, took his own life over the weekend at the age of 30.

The unofficial beginning of summer is on the horizon! And so is the latest podcast, covering ALL that’s happening in the world of sports. On deck:

(5:04) After spending a moment taking a peek at what lies ahead over the weekend in sports, the NBA is front and center as both Game 1’s in the Conference Finals are in the books. The Dallas Mavericks take the home court away from the Minnesota Timberwolves and give them something to think about heading into Game 2. Will the T’wolves respond? As for the East, the Boston Celtics stole Game 1. Or did the Indiana Pacers give it away? You can say a bit of both as the Celtics are thankful to get the first game of the series out of the way. How will this series unfold after a crushing Game 1 loss for the Pacers?

(19:15) On the ice, Game 1 of the Western Conference commences this evening as the Edmonton Oilers hung on to beat the Vancouver Canucks in a Game 7 for the right to play the Dallas Stars. I’ll preview who’ll come out of the conference as the Stars have been stout, but have had some lapses so far this postseason and the Oilers have been up and down, but survived two rounds. In the East, the Florida Panthers drew first blood against the Rangers at MSG to steal home ice from the top seeded Broadway Blueshirts. This is the beginning of, I think, will be a wild and hotly contested series.

(32:14) How about the high flying Fightin’ Philadelphia Phillies? They have the best record after 50 games since the 2001 Seattle Mariners. Are they THAT good? I’ll also show some love to the Kansas City Royals as they’re off to their best start as well. Will the continue to keep this up? I’ll survey the baseball landscape as we get set for a holiday weekend on the diamond.

(47:36) The second Grand Slam on the tennis calendar is approaching as the French Open is just days away. The two big storylines are as follows. Will Rafael Nadal play on his favorite surface? And will anyone beat back to back French Open champion, Iga Swiatek?

(53:55) With the rage of many people on top of Formula 1 racing, why is the Indianapolis 500 not getting any love? As the historically popular race is set for this coming Sunday.

Can The Heat/Panthers Delay Titles For Nuggets/Golden Knights? Mets Cohen Not Blowing Up Team. Rays:
JAYREELZ

We're a week and change away from summer officially starting. If it's not warm in your neck of the woods, I'll ratchet up the intensity when it comes to heating up the airwaves as another fast paced podcast is forthcoming. On deck:

(2:53) With the fall & winter sports ready to crown a champion in the coming days, are we ready to enter the second phase of the Sports Dead Zone?

(4:10) The Nuggets are on the precipice of their first ever NBA championship as they won the two road games in Miami rather comfortably. Can the Heat thwart Denver's chance to clinch on their home court?

(14:20) Same could be said for the Vegas Golden Knights as they lost a tough Game 3 in the final minutes and overtime, but hung on for dear life at the end of Game 4 as they're on the brink of a Cup title. Will the Panthers rally the troops and take from their experience in the first round, where they were down 3-1 to the top seeded Bruins and pulled that series out in seven games? Or is it just Vegas's time to shine as they seek their first Cup win in franchise history?

(22:56) Sadly, the Mets are front and center when it comes to what's going on in baseball. They've lost eight of their last nine games, including a brutal third game in Atlanta. Owner Steve Cohen had a state of the union on his ballclub to say that he's not going to be reactionary and blow up the team. Is he right on this? I'll get into why this team has underachieved (i.e. Justin Verlander, anyone?) and are there any positive signs on the horizon? A team that's been on fire since the start of the season are the Tampa Bay Rays. Is it World Series or bust? Are they built more for the regular season than a short series? I'll discuss the red hot Oakland A's, winners of five in a row with a sweep over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Arizona Diamondbacks have thrived in the NL West. Break up the Miami Marlins as they share an identical record with the Los Angeles Dodgers?

(39:17) Novak Djokovic is now the all time winningest men's player when it comes to Grand Slams as he won the French Open over Casper Ruud. Is he officially the GOAT? Give it up to Iga Swiatek on the women's side as she gutted out a three set performance over upstart Karolina Muchova to win her third French and fourth Grand Slam overall.

(46:58) The NFL will stay relatively quiet until training camp next month. There was some player personnel moves the past week. Frank Clark goes from Kansas City to Denver. Dalvin Cook was cut from the Vikings. Are the Dolphins interested? De'Andre Hopkins is visiting with the Patriots. Is that a good fit?

(48:53) Arcangelo wins The Belmont Stakes, but a couple of horses had died after races over the weekend. What is going on with this sport? Is there going to be a crackdown on what's been taking place over the last few years?

(50:57) UFC's Amanda Nunes retain her title belts with a victory on Saturday night versus last minute replacement, Irene Aldana. She announced her retirement right after the bout as I throw bouquets to her on a great career.

JAYREELZ

There have been some interesting developments over the past few days in the sports universe and you've come to the right place to get your fix and then some as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(2:53) I start off with the wildfires coming down from Canada over the past couple of days and how it's impacted where I live in New York City and what the experience was like.

(4:23) In a surprising revelation on Tuesday, the PGA Tour joined forces with the LIV Golf League to become one entity. Was this handled properly? How come the players on the Tour didn't have a say? What does this mean for golf moving forward? What about the players who stood pat and didn't take the money? There's a lot to unpack as I share my thoughts on how this blindsided yours truly and the rest of the golf world.

(18:35) Game 3 of the NBA Finals is in the books. If last night was any indication, the Denver Nuggets are on a quest to win their first NBA championship. The brilliance of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray as their record setting triple double performances have them up 2-1 in the series. Can the Miami Heat pull even after Friday night, in what will be a must game for them?

(25:59) Up the turnpike, the Florida Panthers need to get back in the Stanley Cup Finals as they're down 2-0 to the Vegas Golden Knights. After a Game 2 thrashing in Vegas, can they recapture some of their early playoff magic to win on home ice and even up the series? Will Panthers goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky rebound after getting pulled in Game 2?

(32:07) Quite a bit has happened in baseball since Monday's podcast. The wildfires have impacted a couple of games on yesterday schedule (White Sox-Yankees, Tigers-Phillies) but the big story is the injury to Rangers ace Jacob deGrom as he'll need to undergo Tommy John surgery and is done for 2023. As a Met fan, I can't say I told you so, but I knew it was best for the Mets not to re-sign him for this reason. Also, Aaron Judge and Nestor Cortes have landed on the IL. How long will they be out for a Yankee team that's played well of late? We have a hitter who's flirting with .400 as Marlins Luis Arraez is currently at .403. It's a nice story, but is it too early to discuss? And what about Reds top prospect, Elly De La Cruz? He's only played a couple of games, but has already shown why he was MLB's top prospect coming into this year.

(46:29) The French Open hasn't been compelling, riveting or provided a lot of drama, but the tennis world is waiting with bated breath for the titanic clash between Novak Djokovic vs. Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals on Friday afternoon.

(48:01) I spend literally twenty seconds on the final leg of Horse Racing's Triple Crown, The Belmont Stakes, which will take place early Saturday evening.

(48:23) Lionel Messi will make his way to the US as he announced he'll play for Inter Miami of the MLS. Will this have the same effect and impact when Pele played for the New York Cosmos back in the 1970's? Can his presence lift the sport of soccer in this country among the casual or average sports fan?

JAYREELZ

Into the first week of June with plenty to divulge and dissect as yours truly is here to entertain and inform you all on what's taken place in sports over the past few days. On deck:

(2:38) I'd be remiss if I didn't wish a happy birthday in heaven to one of my favorite athletes of all time, one time Detroit Red Wing, later with the Chicago Blackhawks, Bob Probert, who would've been 58 today.

(3:17) We have some buzz in the NBA Finals as the Miami Heat were able to get this series even and back to South Beach with the homecourt over the next two games. They prevailed in what turned out to be a nail biter in Denver last night as the Heat once again showed their grit and gutted out another big victory on the road. How good are their chances to winning an NBA Final and pulling off the upset? I'll break it all down for you as the scene shifts to Miami. I'll also get into all of the coaching hires that have taken place over the past week, including Monty Williams's record breaking deal in Detroit.

(23:57) As for the Stanley Cup Finals, the Florida Panthers find themselves in a situation that they haven't been in about six weeks. Trailing in a series. They lose Game 1 in Vegas Saturday night, 5-2 as they pick up the pieces for a huge Game 2 tonight, as they try to get back to South Florida, similar to their basketball counterparts, tied at 1-1. Are there concerns? Can they recapture the magic that has led them to the Finals? In coaching news, the Washington Capitals hired Spencer Carbury who at 41, is the youngest coach in the league.

(31:13) The big showdown in LA over the weekend had the Yankees taking the back two games of their series against the Dodgers. After Luis Severino's uninspiring performance (and spotty future) on Friday night in an 8-4 loss, they bounced back behind Aaron Judge, Jake Bauers, Domingo German and Anthony Volpe in 6-3 and 4-1 wins on Saturday & Sunday. Then there are the Mets. They swept the Phillies during the middle part of last week, but then get swept over the weekend against the Blue Jays at home, which leaves their record at 30-30. Up next? Three games in Atlanta versus the first place Braves as they continue their inconsistent play this year. You know I'll have a few things to say about this, including an underachieving Justin Verlander in his first month as a Met. I'll go through the rest of the baseball landscape as the Rangers stay hot, the Mariners can't find their way (same for the Padres) and the Pirates have played better as they keep pace in the NL Central. And is this the end for Nationals P Stephen Strasburg as he has nerve damage in his right arm and his career is in jeopardy?

(45:49) The French Open has had zero drama after the first week at Roland Garros, but there's a potential storm brewing. The stars are aligning to have the heavyweight match between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinal come Friday. What this could mean for a tournament that needs all the attention that it can get?

South Florida vs. The World? MIA-DEN. FLA-Vegas Finals Preview. Liam Hendriks's Return From Cancer.
JAYREELZ

June is here and so is the latest podcast as I share all that's happening in sports. On deck:

(2:40) The sports landscape gets into the homestretch. Despite two championship rounds in the NBA & NHL are upon us, there isn't much else that's percolating (other than baseball) as far as what I love to talk about. I'll get us rolling on the NBA Finals which begins tonight. A few big storylines heading in, keys to both teams winning a title and who'll come out on top as I prepare you for what's to come between the Miami Heat vs. Denver Nuggets. Of course, I'll spend a few minutes on the postmortem of the Boston Celtics as they flopped in making history at home on Monday night. What lies ahead for a team that has a big decision regarding Jaylen Brown, coming close to another Finals appearance, but has lots to prove as far as being a team that's capable of winning it all.

(24:42) As for the Stanley Cup Finals, can the Florida Panthers continue their torrid pace after more than a week off? Or is Vegas that much better and primed to win their first Cup? What about Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky? Can he deliver one more time and pull off a big upset? I'll answer all of those questions and predict who'll raise Lord's Stanley Cup when it's all said and done.

(31:40) All is quiet on the MLB front as we're at the 1/3 point of the season. The big story (and most inspiring one) of the past few days was the return of White Sox reliever Liam Hendriks who has recovered from cancer, stepping on a mound for the first time this season vs. the Angels. I'll check the schedule to see what series to take a peek at over the weekend, highlighted by the titanic matchup between the Yankees vs. Dodgers in LA.

(36:24) The French Open hasn't generated a lot of news on the court, except for one big upset. #2 men's player in the world, Daniil Medvedev was bounced in the first round. You've had some startling comments from Novak Djokovic in regards to what's going on in Kosovo. Will that be a distraction as he continues to march on in this tournament? And Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus was snubbed from a postgame handshake by Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk. Was that warranted by Kostyuk? Should she have handled that differently? Please subscribe, leave a rating and post a review on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spreaker, Stitcher, Spotify, Luminary, Amazon Music and iHeartRadio or wherever you get your podcasts.
