The Yankees are in cruise control to a division title. One large question looms. Where will GM Brian Cashman procure reinforcements for his starting pitching?

The Mets should become sellers this week. Despite him being on the IL, I have a destination for P Zack Wheeler.

I'll take a look at the latest Wild Card races in the AL/NL.

Odell Beckham Jr. is back in the news. I have a few hot takes on what he said in the recent GQ article about his former team.

I'll recap the not so thrilling Open Championship as Shane Lowry was victorious in his homeland of Ireland.

What's next for Manny Pacquiao after his defeat of former undefeated welterweight, Keith Thurman on Saturday night.

Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Brooklyn's In The House! Knicks Come Up Short & NBA Free Agency Whirlwind, Yankees London Calling, Mets Sky Falling & More

Kicking off the first day of July with more fireworks than the Fourth as Episode 78 brings plenty of bottle rockets, booms and blasts with the following:

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving sign with the Brooklyn Nets. What does this mean for this upcoming season minus KD? The 2020-21 season? Also, I leave a small verbal note to the newly minted Nets fan.

The Knicks fall short of their pursuit of the two big guns. Why that’s not a bad thing? And why the contracts of the recent players they signed benefits for the short and long term? Also, James Dolan’s impact on why the Garden isn’t the ‘Mecca’ like it once was.

The Yankees bopped their way overseas to two large victories over their heated rivals. What’s the next step for this team as it heads into the All-Star Break and the trade deadline 30 days away?

The Mets are crawling into the All-Star Break after another gut-wrenching week. What the Mets have to look forward to, not only this week with the Yankees coming into their building, but for the remainder of the year if they want any relevance this summer?

NHL free agency has begun. Hear some of the trades taking place and what the Islanders need to do to take their team to the next level here during the shopping spree of procuring players.

Plus, some Wimbledon news and my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Injured Warriors Get Even, Bruins Two Wins From Cup, Yankees Roll But Bullpen Beware, Mets Bullpen Nightmare, Joshua Letdown or Ruiz Redemption?

Episode 73 delivers more bite than bark as we enter the month of June. Here's what's cooking:

Golden State draws even in the Finals, but it came at a price. What lies ahead in Games 3 & 4? The status of Kevin Durant, Kevon Looney and Klay Thompson. Can Toronto steal one of the next two?

The Bruins are two wins away from winning their second Cup this decade. What they've done to this point? Blues G Jordan Binnington's poor play. Can the Blues even it up going back to Boston?

The Yankees have won nine straight series. Their bullpen has been lights out, but beware in the long run. I'll explain.

The Mets limp home from a brutal West Coast trip where their bullpen is a straight up disaster! What's next for the Amazins' as they try to stay afloat in the NL East?

Was Saturday nights' heavyweight fight between Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz, Jr. more of an indictment on Joshua's heart? Or Ruiz's determination?

I'll have that, plus my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Former Co-host of The Final Word, J.D. on the Celtics, NBA Player Movement, NFL Hall of Fame, Jason Garrett & Yankees/Red Sox

It’s an honor to introduce to you my one time former co-host of our internet radio show, The Final Word, J.D. We hit on a variety of topics ranging from the state of the NBA regarding player movement (i.e. Anthony Davis, Kristaps Porzingis and Kyrie Irving) and the Boston Celtics. Our thoughts on the NFL Hall of Fame finalists, his beloved Dallas Cowboys and head coach, Jason Garrett. We wrap up discussing the Boston Red Sox with some talk about the Yankees and how they’re built to go up against the World Champs in 2019. It’s an in-depth and passionate discussion between two former colleagues that’ll bring you back to when you were sitting at a bar or in the barbershop chopping it up about sports. This is truly a podcast for the sports fan on this special edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 53)

World Series Recap/Mets GM Search, Jets/Giants/NFL Week 8, College Football, NHL, NBA

We cap off an exciting October of sports and crown a baseball champion on this weeks edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The Boston Red Sox have won their fourth World Series title since 2004. I’ll delve into what it took for them to reach the MLB mountaintop and also dissect where it all went wrong for the Dodgers as they lose their second consecutive Fall Classic at home. I’ll also deep dive into what it must feel like for the Yankee fan the day after and where the rivalry next year could be headed between the two organizations. Plus, my thoughts on the Mets new GM, Brodie Van Wagenen and whether or not they made the right choice to take this team to the next level. I’ll recap all of Week 8 in the NFL, including the end of the 2018 Giants at the halfway point, with the Jets not that far behind. And insight on the debacle in Jacksonville, the Rams halfway to a perfect regular season and when Le’Veon Bell may come back to play with the Steelers. Don’t forget the week that was, and upcoming in college football, the NHL and what’s with all of these high scoring games in the NBA? Quite a bit to get into for your edification on this weeks episode of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 37)

Yanks/MLB Playoffs, Jets/Giants/NFL Week 5, College Football, NHL, MMA

A busy sports October is in full swing. I’m here to dissect it all on this weeks edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The Yankees have taken the momentum of the ALDS and the home field advantage versus their adversaries in Boston. I’ll point out what it’ll take to have the Bombers not go back to Beantown for a Game 5 and what needs to be done if you’re the Red Sox to extend the series to advance to the ALCS. Not to mention, a brief thought on the fans that invade the Stadium and the influence (good and bad) that they have during these playoff games. Plus, the rest of the MLB playoff landscape. The Jets get back in the win column as they punished the Denver Broncos on the ground, while the Giants leave Carolina in heartbreak as they lose on a last second 63 yard field goal. There’s lot to discuss about this Giant team, including Odell Beckham’s comments about the G-Men and a word on why the Giants need to push the offense to bigger heights, similar to what they did in yesterdays’ game. I’ll put a cap on Week 5 of the NFL with a look to Week 6. Plus, the latest in college football, the NHL ‘code’ (i.e. fighting, sending a message and discipline of their players in regards to what happened in the preseason.) and a brief mention of the MMA fight on Saturday and the aftermath of the Conor McGregor match. All of that, and then some on this weeks episode of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 33)

Yanks-Sox Recap. NFL Training Camp Notes. Urban Meyer/Ohio State

We usher in August with some interesting storylines on The JAYREELZ Podcast. The Yankees limp out of Boston, losing four straight to their bitter rivals, including a heartbreaking 5-4 loss in 10 innings Sunday night. What does this mean for the Bombers moving forward? Should they set their sights on the wild card? Can they get their mid-season mojo back? Will they face the Red Sox with the division on the line in late September? Or settle for a one game, winner advances to the ALDS? You'll get my hot takes on all of the above as the pennant race in the AL heats up. There's a bit of NFL news coming out of both Giants and Jets camp. The agent for Odell Beckham Jr. left town without a contract extension. Will a deal get done before the opener? Or is this going to turn out to be an old fashioned game of chicken? Plus, sources say that Sam Darnold has a 'fair shot' of getting the nod to start opening day. Is it too soon? Are they rushing their #1 pick? I've got a few things to say about both men and their situations with their respective teams. I'll also have a few words on the possible departure of Ohio State University coach Urban Meyer? Your stop for all that's going on in the world of sports, here on The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 23)
