Alcaraz's Legend Launches With Win At Wimbledon. Ohtani On The Trading Block?/Orioles Threat In AL East. Tyreek Hill 2K Yards? Saquon's 4pm Deadline? Oops! I Almost Forgot. Messi-Mania In Miami!

Another week arrives as I deliver more heat to your speakers, earbuds or headphones when it comes to fast paced, action packed sports talk as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(3:08) The future, maybe even the present of tennis has arrived! 20 year old, Carlos Alcaraz defeats arguably the greatest men's player in the history of the sport, Novak Djokovic to win his first ever Wimbledon tournament. Is he not just the next big thing? Is he now? On the women's side, Marketa Vondrousova shocked the world as an unseeded player to win the whole thing, beating Ons Jabeur, who cannot get over the hump as she lost another opportunity to win a Grand Slam major.

(17:00) Baseball makes its return from the All-Star Break as series resumed this past weekend. With the Los Angeles Angels slowly but surely slipping away from the American League wild card race, is it quite possible that Shohei Ohtani will be on the move before the trade deadline August 1st? I'll take a look at what went on in the MLB, including the red hot Orioles who not only pose a threat in the division, but possibly the entire league with their current eight game winning streak? Can they procure some big time starting pitching to take them to greater heights? The quest for batting .400 if your Marlins Luis Arraez. I'll also peek ahead at a couple of good series with the Dodgers-Orioles being the highlight of the early part of the week. And the 2024 schedule has been released, which is the earliest that I can ever recall.

(36:18) We're a week away from NFL training camps opening up throughout the country. I can't say I'll be fully invested or excited (not to worry, I'll explain why) What I can say is that Tyreek Hill has some lofty goals for the upcoming season. He's shooting for a 2,000 yard season receiving. Is it achievable? Yes. But it'll be with an asterisk if he does it. (Again, I'll explain why) The Jets re-sign DT, Quinnen Williams as expectations for him and the team will be astronomical. The Giants have a big decision to make (and only have a few hours of me typing this) to get a deal done for RB Saquon Barkley by 4pm today. Will they sign the former #2 pick overall?

(44:02) The NBA summer league concludes today with little to no fanfare, but on the ice, the Arizona Coyotes were in the news the past couple of days. They did the right thing by releasing a player they just signed to a one year deal (i.e. Alex Galchenyuk) as he was arrested in Scottsdale, AZ due to disorderly conduct and threatening a training officer after hitting a curb and sign while alleged being impaired. A disturbing and shocking story from a league that rarely produces incidents like this.

(47:58) As I was about to do some housekeeping to close out another podcast, I remembered to make a mention of Lionel Messi as he was introduced to South Florida and America when he'll embark on a career in the MLS with Inter Miami this coming weekend. I'll delve into this more on Thursday's podcast, so please come on back for more on his impact to Miami, the MLS and the American sports landscape.

MLB Teams Impacting Trade Deadline & Pennant Chase. MLBPA Wants To Tweak Pitch Clock? Spurs Baby Wembanyama. Zion's Short Memory. Djokovic-Alcaraz Clash? Must See TV? Jets On Hard Knocks

It may be quiet around these parts when it comes to sports, but I'll be sure to come across loud and clear with my thoughts, opinions and analysis on what's happening as the latest podcast is here. On deck:

(2:44) Us fans are ready for an intriguing 'second half' of a baseball season that has had a lot of surprise teams thrust in the middle of a playoff chase. The next two and a half weeks will be telling as the trade deadline is on August 1st. Which means, what will teams like the Orioles, Rangers, Reds, Marlins and Diamondbacks do to bring reinforcements and make a push for a playoff berth in October. I'll also break down all of the division and wild card races in the AL & NL. Why does Tony Clark want to tweak the pitch clock come postseason time? I'll review my over/under win totals to see where I'm at with my predictions regarding six teams dating back to late March.

(31:36) Are the San Antonio Spurs serious? Putting prized draft pick, Victor Wembanyama on the shelf for the rest of the summer league? I must voice my displeasure on that, as well as, Zion Williamson saying that he wants to be out there playing instead of sitting on the sidelines. Why didn't he have that same energy toward the end of the regular season when his team was battling for a play-in spot?

(38:13) We're down to the final few days at Wimbledon as we're one match away from an epic men's final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. Will it actually happen? On the women's side, heavily favored Iga Swiatek was upset earlier in the week by Elena Svitolina. Who'll come out of top and take home a title at the All England Club?

(41:26) HBO must be salivating at the thought of bringing their camera crews to the New York Jets practice facility next month. Will this be compelling television? Or will this end up being a dud?

MLB Home Run Derby Better Than All Star Game? Big Series Concludes 'First Half'. NBA's Gimmicky In Season Tournament! Boo To Fans At Wimbledon For Unfair Treatment Of Azarenka

As summer is in full bloom, we can't say the same about the sports world, but you know I'm more than capable to keep you abreast of what's gone on as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(3:31) After a few words about how the sports landscape is a little barren as we approach the middle of July, baseball has come to its All-Star Break as the Home Run Derby will take place tonight, followed by the Midsummer Classic tomorrow night in Seattle. Does the actual Derby generate more buzz and attention that the All-Star Game itself? I'll share a little synergy with the past two prior games that were played in the Pacific Northwest. As the 'first half' concludes, I'll discuss the big series that took place over the weekend (i.e. Braves-Rays, Orioles-Twins, Cubs-Yankees, Mariners-Astros, Reds-Brewers, Mets-Padres, Dodgers-Angels) NOTE: I failed to mention Phillies-Marlins. My error and apologies there. Have no fear. You can get my analysis of that series on my YouTube channel @JAYREELZ. I'll also talk about the top two picks of the MLB Draft as history was made between two teammates (LSU's Paul Skenes & Dylan Crews) drafted 1-2 respectively.

(32:07) The NBA has announced their in-season tournament on Saturday night, where it'll culminate in an NBA Cup come December 7th in Las Vegas. Is this a gimmick? Too early to tell? I'll talk about Gregg Popovich's extension with the Spurs, his player Victor Wembanyama has been in the news for a rough outing Friday night, a bounce back performance on Saturday and a brief encounter with Britney Spears, which was much ado about nothing.

(41:38) A big trade took place in the NHL over the weekend as former Ottawa Senator Alex DeBrincat was shipped to Detroit for players and picks. Longtime LA King forward, Anze Kopitar re-up for three more years as he'll likely end his career with the only team he played for.

(42:50) Some controversy has surfaced at Wimbledon as the fans booed Victoria Azarenka after losing to Elena Svitolina after their match yesterday. Was it warranted? Was it unfair? Plus, a very disappointing defeat to Francis Tiafoe getting served in three quick sets. And the Carlos Alcaraz-Novak Djokovic finals match up is still in tact as we're into the second week of the tournament, hoping that we'll see both players go at it for a Grand Slam title.

A Slow Sports Week Highlighted By A Signature Mets Win, Braves-Rays & Ohtani's Blister. Unclear & Confusing NBA In-Season Final Four Tournament? Coco Gauff Bounced As Wimbledon Slogs Through

A rather slow sports week isn't going to stop your favorite podcast host to babble about what little is happening in the universe of competition. On deck:

(2:27) I share how this is one of the slowest sports periods that I've experienced since I've started the podcast five years ago.

(4:54) After my little soliloquy on the current barren landscape, baseball is what's getting us through this early part of the summer. Have the Mets started to turn the corner? In what was their biggest win of the year last night, they've won four in a row and look to sweep the first place Arizona Diamondbacks tonight? What is the most important thing for them to do (win, of course) to keep these good vibes going? I'll also get into other series that have taken place this week (Orioles-Yankees, Cardinals-Marlins, Cubs-Brewers roof debacle) and some series that have some punch this weekend before the All-Star Break (Braves-Rays, Orioles-Twins, Mariners-Astros, Mets-Padres, Angels-Dodgers, to name a few). Plus, a big lift in the bullpen for the Texas Rangers (acquiring reliever Aroldis Chapman from the Royals) and the Yankees will have to look for another reliever themselves as Jimmy Cordero has been suspended for the rest of the year due to violating the domestic violence policy.

(26:01) The NBA free agency period has come to a screeching halt as we await where James Harden and Damian Lillard will end up. Grant Williams is part of a sign and trade from Boston to Dallas with San Antonio involved. But the Association is about to unveil a plan to have an in-season tournament, which from the surface, comes across as unclear and confusing.

(31:27 ) There isn't much, if anything, going on in the NHL. Training camps in the NFL kick off in less than three weeks, but there's nothing to dissect at the moment. Wimbledon is a few days into its tournament. Not a lot of buzz has come out of the All England Club, unless you're Coco Gauff, who was bounced earlier in the week. Other than that, everything has been chalk as there have been no major upsets or developments out in London.

Braves MLB's Best, Bar None? Ho-Hum NBA & NHL Free Agency, Harden's Next Stop? Lillard On The Move? Alcaraz/Djokovic's Quest To Wimbledon Final? NFL's Crackdown On Gambling

If it's early July, you know it's warm weather, cookouts and celebrating another holiday as I flex my independence as a producer and host of your favorite little podcast with all of the latest in the world of sports. On deck:

(3:03) As of this moment, there is no question that the best team in baseball from top to bottom are the Atlanta Braves. I'll explain in great detail as to why, even over organizations like the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros. I'll get into some of the key series that played out over the weekend (Marlins-Braves, Red Sox-Blue Jays, & Astros-Rangers, to name a few.) and peek at the series over the course of the Independence Day holiday.

(28:14) Free agency has begun in the both the NBA & NHL. First up, the Association. Not a lot of drama or intrigue with players changing addresses. In fact, quite a few players have stood pat with the teams they finished with last season (i.e. Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook, Draymond Green, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, Kyle Kuzma, Austin Reaves) among many others. The two big questions are where does James Harden end up as his departure from Philadelphia is forthcoming? And is there a destination for a one Damian Lillard (i.e. Miami, maybe?)considering his enormous contract and getting their worth for the perennial All-Star from Portland?

(42:22) As for what's transpired off the ice, there has been plenty of wheeling and dealing in the NHL, but to me, nothing to write home about. I'll get into what has taken place as of this point. How much I love the few tough guys in the sport (i.e. Milan Lucic, Ryan Reaves & Pat Maroon) getting free agent deals or in Maroon's case a trade? Plus, the Islanders re-up on goaltenders Ilya Sorokin, Semyon Varlamov & Scott Mayfield. Did these signings make them a lot better?

(47:53) Wimbledon has begun at the All England Club as the third major tennis tournament of the year has arrived. What will transpire on the women's side? Will Iga Swiatek continue her dominance? Will we have a better rematch between Carlos Alcarez-Novak Djokovic, but this time in a Final?

(54:47) The NFL has cracked down on a few players violating the leagues gambling policy. I'll share my thoughts on that. Plus, NFL fans rejoice. Training camps open up throughout the sport in a little over three weeks as I can certainly wait for another NFL season to commence.

Mets-Braves Showdown. One Yankee Concern From Fenway? Novak Wins Wimbledon, But No To US Open? NHL Draft Surprise At #1? NFL History In Vegas With Sandra Morgan Hire

A new day. A new week means a new podcast, but the same passion and fire as I deliver all that the sports world has to offer on this latest edition. On deck:

(4:04) The showdown in the NL East is about to begin. The Mets and Braves meet up for three huge games down in Atlanta starting tonight, with the Mets holding a 1.5 lead in the division. How will this play out? Which team does this series means the most to? I'll have a preview. The Yankees come out of Boston with a split of a four game set. I'll dissect what's the one thing we've learned over the weekend about the Bombers and how it could play an enormous factor, not only down the stretch of the regular season, but more importantly, the postseason. I'll take a lay of the MLB land and get into the Rays and Blue Jays recent stumble and the Dodgers resurgence, among other things as we're one week away from the All-Star Break.

(29:39) Wimbledon, tennis's third leg of the Grand Slam has officially completed. Elena Rybarkina is your surprise winner on the women's side. There's been a hint of controversy surrounding her win because players from Russia were banned for the tournament, but she represents another nation despite being born in Moscow. I'll explain further. Then there's Novak Djokovic winning his fourth Wimbledon in a row, seventh overall and 21st Grand Slam Final over Nick Kyrgios. Djokovic has gone on record stating that he doesn't anticipate playing in the US Open. How come? Also, how does Kyrgios perform moving forward now that he's made it to a Grand Slam Final?

(38:03) The NHL Draft had a little surprise at the top where the hometown host Montreal Canadiens, expected to take Shane Wright as their #1 choice, pivoted and chose Juraj Slafkovsky instead. Were the fans in the building elated by the selection? The Blackhawks were wheeling and dealing over the past few days sending a few players and draft picks as it looks as if they're in rebuild mode. Will Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane be next? Quite a few goaltenders were moved (i.e. Alexander Georgiev, Ville Husso and Vitek Vanecek) as well. Now, free agency looms over the sport as Wednesday will be the first day teams can spend on players like Evgeni Malkin, PK Subban, Phil Kessel, Claude Giroux, Johnny Gaudreau and many more as the offseason is in full swing.

(47:07) James Harden takes a pay cut to stay in Philadelphia as they look to add free agent PJ Tucker to the squad. How will he shape up when training camp comes around? Damien Lillard gets an extension to stay in Portland. He felt that if he were to go elsewhere, it wouldn't be fulfilling, when it comes to winning a championship. As commendable as it is for him to do so, the likelihood of that happening is slim and none.

(50:53) Sandra Douglas Morgan and the Las Vegas Raiders made history as she was hired by the team to be the president of the franchise. What this could possibly mean for all of sports moving forward?

Yanks/Sox Renew Rivalry, Mets-Braves On Deck, White Sox Inconsistency Highlight MLB, Nadal Injury Impacts Wimbledon. Baker's Future In Carolina. NHL Draft/Historic Mike Grier GM Hire In San Jose

With the holiday fireworks and celebration behind us, the sports world is always present as I’ll break down ALL that’s taking place throughout the landscape. On deck:

(3:59) Baseball is just about at or a smidge past the halfway point of the season. Some interesting storylines from the week, leading into the weekend are as follows. The Yankees and Red Sox renew their rivalry for four games in Fenway. Considering the Yankees enormous lead in the AL East (14 games as of today), should we as fans pay any attention to this showdown? What could this mean for the Red Sox as they're battling for second place in a division that has them, the Rays and Blue Jays separated by a half game? I'll get into the return of Max Scherzer, the impending showdown between the Mets-Braves in the NL East. The White Sox unable to get on track (and will they do so at any point?) at home vs. the Twins. The recent skids of the Cardinals and Padres. I'll even get into my over/under win totals and where they stand as we're about ten days away from the All-Star Game.

(27:44) Wimbledon is close to crowning champions for both the men and women as a developing storyline could impact the men's side of the bracket. Rafael Nadal had to labor an abdominal injury as he defeated Taylor Fritz. As of now, he's scheduled to perform in his semifinal match vs. Nick Kyrgios, but will he be able to persevere and set himself up to win his third Grand Slam this year?

(35:12) Baker Mayfield finally gets his wish as the Browns send him to Carolina for a mid conditional draft pick in 2024. Will he thrive and resurrect his career with the Panthers?

(40:31) The NHL Draft takes place in Montreal tonight. Are there any generational players to look out for? Also, there was a historic hiring by the San Jose Sharks as long time player, Mike Grier is the first person of color to become a general manager in the sport.

Durant Or Nets To Blame For Fallout In BK? Another Ainge Fleecing? Padres Spoil Dodger Sweep At Midway Point Of MLB Season. Swiatek Ousted/Kyrgios Antics At Wimbledon. USC/UCLA To Big Ten!

There will be plenty of fireworks and grill marks as I take a peek at the entire sports landscape here on the latest holiday edition of the podcast. On deck:

(4:44) There was plenty of wheeling and dealing in the NBA over the past week, with supermax deals handed out left and right (i.e. Nikola Jokic, Devin Booker, Zion Williamson, to name a few) but the big story was Kevin Durant requesting to be traded from the Brooklyn Nets. Who's to blame in all of this? Is it KD? The Nets? I'll have a full commentary on all of this, especially what the hierarchy of the Nets should do, if they haven't done so already, in order to keep the peace and rebuild their relationships with KD & Kyrie. The other newsworthy note in the Association was the Timberwolves trading a boatload of players and #1 picks to Utah for Rudy Gobert. Was this deal too expensive for the Timberwolves blood? Is Gobert even a good fit with this roster? I'll also share my thoughts on the Celtics shrewd deal to bring in Malcolm Brogdon from the Pacers. Although it comes with a caveat that is concerning.

(31:27) We're just about at the halfway mark of the baseball season. The All-Star Break is two weeks away. The Dodgers squandered a golden opportunity for a four game sweep of the rival Padres, but San Diego saved face as they beat up closer, Craig Kimbrel. The White Sox are looking to make a push as they come off of a sweep in San Francisco with a home date with the division leading Twins. I'll tell you what's going on in the NL Central. The Mets and Braves are a week away from re-acquainting themselves during this 2022 season. The AL East is a logjam after the first place Yankees and the Astros are in another stratosphere at the moment as the hottest team in the sport as I dissect both leagues to see where we're at about 81 games into the schedule.

(42:16) Wimbledon is into its second week of competition. The stunning news from the tournament was Iga Swiatek having her 37 match streak snapped against Alize Cornet on the women's side. Also, Coco Gauff has lost, leaving the possibility of Harmony Tan (who beat Serena Williams last week) to become the Cinderella at the All England Club. On the men's side, Carlos Alcaraz will not have a date with Novak Djokovic, but it's Jannik Sinner (CORRECTION: I said Skinner during the pod, not Sinner. My apologies for the error) who has that distinction. The guy who's making most of the headlines is Nick Kyrgios, who's temperament and attitude was the story of the weekend. Is he all bark and no bite? Can he make his way to the final?

(48:09) Both USC & UCLA will pack their bags and join the Big 10 in 2024. What does this mean for the PAC-12? Will there be a merger of conferences down the road? Is this the beginning of the end for the sport on a whole?

(53:43) The NHL Draft and free agency is upcoming. The impact is already taking place in Tampa Bay as they had to free up money and make a tough move by trading defenseman Ryan McDonagh to the Nashville Predators. I'll also get into the Class of 2022 Hall of Fame as the Sedin twins (Daniel & Henrik), Roberto Luongo and Daniel Alfredsson will be enshrined in Toronto. Why I feel none of the above are worthy of being Hall of Famers.

(59:59) Branden Grace makes history by becoming the first player to win a LIV Golf Event in the US. Did anyone watch? Does anyone care?

NBA Opt-Ins, Opt-Outs, Trades & Free Agency Begins. Mets Ugly Loss. The Real Reason Behind Freeman's Departure To LA. The End For Serena? Baker Mayfield Moving On?

As we say goodbye to June and usher in the holiday weekend, there's still quite a bit to dissect in the world of sports as I'll share my thoughts and opinions on all that's happening! On deck:

(4:05) NBA free agency begins tonight at 6pm. You've already had some players opt-in to their current deals (i.e. Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook) opt-out (i.e. James Harden, Bradley Beal) and a John Wall buyout in Houston as he heads to LA to play for the Clippers. I'll discuss their situations, the big trade between the Hawks and Spurs for Dejounte Murray, the Knicks impending signing of Jalen Brunson and much more as we gear up for some wheeling and dealing in the Association over the next week or so.

(22:10) My beloved Mets have hit a bit of a tough stretch, including an awful loss yesterday as they were swept again by the Astros. I'll explain why I'm not happy with their latest defeat and how the Braves are putting the pressure on the Mets in the NL East. Also, we found out the REAL reason why Freddie Freeman did not re-sign with Atlanta in the off-season. I'll recap the aftermath of the Mariners-Angels brawl and the suspensions handed down where 12 players and coaches were affected. I'll get into some series concluding (Guardians-Twins) and beginning (Padres-Dodgers) as we inch closer to the halfway point of the season.

(38:26) Wimbledon has been mostly chalk for the most part. The big match of the week was Serena Williams losing to Harmony Tan in an epic match on Tuesday. Is this the beginning of the end for the all-time great?

(44:10) Baker Mayfield has made a declaration to the Browns organization as he feels it's time to move on and that they haven't reconciled with him, in light of the acquisition of Deshaun Watson. Is he wrong?

(49:19) There's a LIV Golf Event taking place in Portland, Oregon starting today. Is anyone watching? Does anyone care?

Avalanche Wins Cup! A Dynasty On Deck? NBA Draft: Magic/Pistons Upside. Knicks Deafening Silence. Astros Measuring Stick vs. NY/Judge's Big Payday! Wimbledon Preview. Ready For NFL Training Camp?

Another sports season ends, but the sports world still has quite a bit to discuss as I'll get into the latest and greatest of what's happening. On deck:

(4:04) The Sports Dead Zone Pt. 2 is upon us. Now that the fall and winter sports have concluded, I'll zero in on what the next couple of months will look like in the sports landscape as we get you through the summer to the football season in early September.

(7:14) The Colorado Avalanche has exorcised some playoff demons by winning the Stanley Cup Finals dethroning the two time defending champion, Tampa Bay Lightning. With their core of Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and Cale Makar, do the Avalanche have what it takes to build a championship dynasty over the next few years? What about the Lightning? Can they get back to the Cup at this time next year? I'll answer those questions and give a review on the Stanley Cup Playoffs on a whole as we say goodbye to hockey until the fall.

(21:35) The NBA Draft wasn't much to write home about. Although I like what both Orlando did (selecting Paolo Banchero and what direction they're heading with a group of good young players) and Detroit (picking Jaden Ivey and trading for Jalen Duren in the first round). My biggest concern, or in this case GRIPE, is what the Knicks aren't doing and it falls at the feet of their front office! This is a commentary that you won't want to miss as I dissect the silence and ineptitude of team president, Leon Rose and VP, William Wesley.

(39:16) The Houston Astros have an interesting stretch to where they're playing both the Mets and Yankees over the course of ten days. After six games, with three more to go this week, how did they stock up to the best in both the National and American League? I'll get into the heroics of Aaron Judge this season and what his potential free agent contract could look like for the Yankees? The return of Freddie Freeman to Atlanta, the injury suffered by Bryce Harper who is out indefinitely with a broken thumb. The Guardians lose grip of the AL Central. The Red Sox rise in the AL and much more as baseball will be front and center as we get deeper into the summer.

(51:40) Wimbledon kicks off the third Grand Slam of the calender this year today. I'll preview both the men's and women's side. Will we see another Novak Djokovic-Rafael Nadal matchup for the title? What can we expect from Serena Williams as we'll see her on the court at a major tournament for the first time in quite a while?

(56:03) NFL Training Camps are less than a month away. Is yours truly ready for some football? I'll get into that and another Manning (i.e. Peyton & Eli's nephew, Arch) makes his announcement as to what university he'll suit up for in the fall of 2023.

(59:47) My Hero and Zero of the Week is on hiatus. I'll explain.

Giannis On A Mission? Suns Look For Answers. Lightning: A Three-Peat On Deck? MLB's Pretenders/Contenders. Djokovic's Immortality. British Open Preview. Is McGregor Done? Soccer PK's Disaster!

NBA Finals. A Stanley Cup Finals recap. MLB at the halfway point. Novak Djokovic’s attempt at immortality. A preview of The British Open. Conor McGregor’s latest setback. And a rule that MUST be changed in soccer, especially when it comes to winning a championship.

Where else are you going to find all of that on one podcast? Right here, so please indulge me as I entertain you as Episode #203 is ready to set your speakers or earbuds on fire. On deck:

(5:54) The NBA Finals haven’t really been anything to write home about to date, but the Bucks have gotten back into the series as a pivotal Game 4 looms. What can the Suns do to stop the Giannis freight train? Will there be a Khris Middleton sighting? This is familiar territory for the Bucks as they do their best to dig outof another 0-2 hole. Who else from the Suns can step up and be the guy, besides Chris Paul and Devin Booker? There was also a new coaching hire as Jamahl Mosely is the top dog in Orlando.

(23:46) The Tampa Bay Lightning have won back to back Stanley Cups. The big question is? Can they go for a three-peat which hasn’t been witnessed in the league in almost 40 years? I’ll have the answer to that as I put the NHL playoffs to rest.

(33:52) I’ll go through what may be the pretenders and contenders in MLB. There isn’t much to discuss here as it’s been pretty much status quo for the past few weeks. You’ll have to listen to get a full grasp of what I’m saying. I’ll also discuss Jacob deGrom’s decision to not participate in the All-Star Game. The actual game itself. And how the Mets were able to get one of the top pitchers in the country via the MLB Draft last night.

(51:50) Novak Djokovic’s quest for immortality as he has completed 3/4 of the calendar Grand Slam, and in the process, has tied Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer for the most Grand Slam victories by a men’s player in history. What will the pressure be like for Joker as we approach the US Open next month?

(57:49) I’ll preview the British Open which begins on Thursday. Will the weather/elements be a factor? (That’s usually the case) Who may we see at the top of the leaderboard when all is said and done?

(1:04:06) The Conor McGregor-Dustin Poirier bout did not go as planned as Poirier wins by TKO at the fifth minute of the first round due to a cracked tibia as McGregor tried to plant his left foot. Is this the beginning of the end for McGregor?

(1:11:21) Italy wins the Euro Cup over England on penalty kicks. PENALTY KICKS?! Are you effing kidding me? Soccer may not be my forte, but something has to give as these championship matches CANNOT come down to this. I have a solution that’ll upset the soccer fan, but will make sense for a better and dramatic product.

(1:17:47) And, of course, my Hero and Zero of the Week!

CP3's Journey/Giannis Uncertainty: A Finals Preview. Can Lightning Sweep In Cup Repeat? How MLB Will Handle Bauer's Assault Claims? Yankee Demise: Will They Sell? Who Can Beat Novak At Wimbledon?

With another holiday behind us, let’s look ahead to another jam packed, fast paced escape through the sports universe as Episode 201 is ready for takeoff. On deck:

(5:04) The NBA Finals are set as the Milwaukee Bucks will face the Phoenix Suns starting Tuesday. I’ll detail Chris Paul’s run to his first ever Finals appearance, his legacy to date. The health status and uncertainty of Giannis Antetekoumpo. The rise of Khris Middleton’s play, Jrue Holiday’s contribution. Will the viewing public get into this series? And other storylines heading into this unique championship round.

(31:58) The Tampa Bay Lightning are set to reclaim the Cup for a second straight year. Can they produce the first sweep in a Stanley Cup Final in 23 years? Will goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy come up with another series clinching shutout? Is the mayor of Tampa right, wrong or crazy for suggesting that Tampa lose so that they can win Game 5 at home?

(43:59) The Dodgers look to have their swagger back as they’re one of the hottest teams in baseball, but one of their teammates is in hot water as Trevor Bauer has been put on leave by MLB in light of an alleged sexual assault with a woman two months ago. Did the Dodgers handle this properly? What will MLB do throughout this process? And why this story doesn’t receive the attention that the NFL & NBA would if it happened in either of their leagues? Also, what has happened to the Yankees? I’ll dissect their week from hell as they lost a brutal game at home when they once led 7-0, the players only meeting, owner Hal Steinbrenner chiming in on their first half futility, Gerrit Cole’s lost grip? Aroldis Chapman’s ineptitude, Gleyber Torres regression, their rotation, lack of athleticism, even the two admission doubleheaders (which isn’t the Yankees fault) A commentary that you won’t want to miss. I’ll peruse through both the AL & NL as we’re a week away from the All-Star Break.

(1:14:42) Wimbledon is in its second week and it’s been a bit of a bore. The big story is who can stop Novak Djokovic as he looks to grab his third Grand Slam tournament of the calendar year? Is Roger Federer waiting in the wings? What about the women’s side of the bracket?

(1:21:20) A couple of quick notes in the NFL (i.e. Training Camp upcoming, Cowboys back on Hard Knocks and former wideout Demaryius Thomas’s retirement.)

(1:23:34) Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

The Thrill & Agony Of Game 7's! Islanders Fall Short. What's Next? Cup Preview. CP3 On Cusp. A Clipper Comeback? Can Bucks Seal The Deal? MLB's First Ejection Crackdown! A Wimbledon Shocker!

Another milestone for the podcast as Episode #200 is coming at you correct, direct and in full effect on all of the latest and greatest in the world of sports. On deck:

(6:45) The lead up and thrill of a Game 7, but in a loss, the pain and suffering that comes with it.

(9:22) Which brings me to the NY Islanders, who fell two goals short of making it to their first Stanley Cup Finals in 37 years. I’ll recap their final week in the postseason, what to expect this offseason, what they need to get over the hump and a BOLD prediction for next year’s team that you won’t want to miss. I’ll also get into the Montreal Canadiens unexpected run to a Cup Final and predict who’ll hoist Lord Stanley as champions of the NHL. There’s also a new coach for the newly minted Seattle Kraken as I’ll share my thoughts on that.

(31:31) Future Hall of Famer and Suns point guard, Chris Paul is one win away from reaching his first ever NBA Finals, but there may be something brewing with the Clippers as I have a gut that they have the Suns right where they want ‘em. I’ll deep dive as to the possibility of a Clipper Comeback that would be the cataclysmic event this woe be gone franchise needs to get themselves into the Finals. By chance, if the Clippers happen to push this series to a 7th game, what does this say about current coach, Ty Lue? What about Doc Rivers and his tenure as Clips coach? The Bucks have control of their series with the Hawks, but will they put the hammer down on a feisty Atlanta team that’ll come into Game 4 hurting as Trae Young is hobbled with an ankle injury? I’ll also get into the various coaching vacancies filled in Indiana, Boston, Dallas and Portland with some news on Luka Doncic’s alleged relationship with the Mavericks front office and Kristaps Porzingis. Does Damian Lillard want out of Portland now that Chauncey Billups is the head coach? Some interesting developments going on and I have it all covered.

(57:40) Week one of the crackdown with foreign substances in MLB is in the books. At the tail end of it, there was an ejection with the Mariners reliever, Hector Santiago being tossed for having resin in his glove. Was an ejection warranted? Should this have happened since the substance was legal? I’ll have that, the Yankees floundering, the Mets big week, the Giants could put some distance between them and the Dodgers and a top heavy NL & AL as we approach the halfway point of the regular season.

(1:13:19) A shocker at Wimbledon as one of the top men’s players is ousted at the All England Club. Which leads to the bigger question. Is Novak Djokovic’s quest to winning the third leg of the calendar Grand Slam a formality? Also, who’ll come out victorious on the women’s side? I’ll have a preview.

(1:20:36) A couple of notes regarding two offensive lineman in the NFL with one player going (David DeCastro released by the Steelers) and one player coming (Morgan Moses signs with the Jets).

(1:23:15) Not to mention, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

I'll take a look at the latest on the NBA free agent landscape. Why DeMarcus Cousins going to Golden State isn't a big deal, despite what everyone else thinks?
