World Cup Needs A Soccer Reboot, Yankees/Mets, Cousins to Golden State, 'Melo's Destination?

Gearing up for another sports heatwave of information to get you through the summer on this weeks' episode of The JAYREELZ Podcast. I kick off the podcast discussing the World Cup. That's right! The World Cup! Hear my take on what changes should be made to the game in order to improve the sport AND gain more popularity in the U.S., but more importantly, yours truly. I'll recap the weeks that was for the Yankees and Mets. Will trade talk between the teams percolate, in light of their Subway Series matchup right after the All-Star Break? What the Met front office should do when it comes to selling their players? (i.e. Asdrubal Cabrera and Jeurys Familia, in particular) and why the All-Star Game has lost its' luster? I'll take a look at the latest on the NBA free agent landscape. Why DeMarcus Cousins going to Golden State isn't a big deal, despite what everyone else thinks? And not just where Carmelo Anthony may go, but where he should go for this upcoming season? I also add a final word on, of all things, your health! You got plenty of sports stuff to chew on, and then some, on this weeks' edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 19)

LeBron Decision 3.0, John Tavares 1.0, Yanks-Sox Recap, Mickey Callaway Ineptitude, World Cup

A heatwave has hit parts of the U.S., but the sports landscape is on fire as I deliver the top sports news of the past week on The JAYREELZ Podcast. It's official! LeBron James has chosen to play for the Los Angeles Lakers over the next four years. Get my thoughts on what this means for him this year, long term, his legacy and what possible moves can we expect moving forward? I'll share my assessment on Paul George and Chris Paul staying put in OKC and Houston, respectively, and how that affects the Lakers and the Western Conference overall. LeBron wasn't the only superstar caliber player to leave town this past weekend. In the NHL, longtime NY Islander captain, John Tavares goes home, back to Toronto to play for his hometown team, the Maple Leafs. What does this mean for the Islander organization? Where are they headed after losing their best player? You'll get my take on this, and the player they brought in to 'replace' him! Also on the docket, is a recap of the Yankees-Red Sox match-up this past weekend. Why Mets manager Mickey Callaway may be walking the plank? And a brief word on the World Cup. All of that, and then some, on this weeks' version of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 18)

Sports Smorgasbord: NBA Draft, Mets/Yankees, World Cup, US Open Recap

Back on the scene to deliver all that's going on in the world of sports on this weeks' episode of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The NBA season may be over, but the off-season is just getting started. The Draft is three days away, with free agency ten days after that. I'll share my thoughts on what the Knicks & Nets may do, where LeBron James may end up, as well as, Kawhi Leonard looking to be traded to a new team. (LA, anyone?) There's not much to report in the Bronx as the Yankees continue to roll, but there's concern with the Bombers (mainly the Red Sox and adding another starting pitcher). You'll get my take on that, and which Mets may not be with the team (although it's still early, but who's kidding who) come the trade deadline next month. Plus, a recap of the US Open, played right here in Long Island at Shinnecock Hills. And why I have NO interest in the World Cup? Get your popcorn ready for another fast paced, action packed, sports talk party here on the latest edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 16)
