July has arrived with sweltering heat, which is what I’ll provide with all that’s going on in the sports world as the latest podcast is here. On deck:

(5:04) You couldn’t ask for a more crazier start to the NBA free agency period. In fact, the trades have made the biggest impact the last few days. From Ja Morant getting sent to Portland, Kawhi Leonard going back to Toronto and the inexplicable Jaylen Brown to Philadelphia. I’ll break it all down and where should LeBron James end up as he’s part ways with the Lakers.

(32:43) The USA Men’s Soccer Team advances to the next match against a hot opponent in Belgium. Their win over Bosnia-Herzegovina was costly and controversial. I’ll explain why and get into Belgium’s huge comeback win, Mexico’s incredible run and the schedule for the weekend as we get closer to the quarterfinals of the World Cup.

(49:14) We can’t forget the NHL is going through their free agency period as well. I’ll take a peek at some key signings and how Utah, San Jose and Florida have come out of the gate swinging with big time moves.

(59:27) June couldn’t finish any faster if you’re the Yankees, but July isn’t off to a good start either. I’ll get into the annual June Boone Swoon, how they’ve lost seven in a row and will they get out of this funk sooner than later? Also, Mets owner Steve Cohen had a thing or two to say about his GM David Stearns. Cover your ears, Mets fans. It’s not looking good.

(1:11:18) Serena Williams made a nice return to the Wimbledon stage, but it didn’t last long as she lost in three sets to Maya Joint. I’ll check in on what else is happening at the All England Club as the weekend approaches.

And MUCH MORE in between!

June closes out the first half of 2026 strong with an action packed sports podcast that any fan will get excited for. On deck:

(3:49) Who said Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. It’s about to heat up in the Northeast as temperatures will reach 100 by the end of the week, so you know I’m looking forward to that.

(4:50) We’re already at the halfway point of the MLB season. What are some of the main takeaways over the first three months? (Phillies on the rise. Dodgers being the Dodgers. Is the AL up for grabs?)

(28:07) The World Cup is now onto the round of 32. What can we possibly expect over the next week or so, especially with the US team after their lackluster performance against Turkey.

(41:25) The Charlotte Hornets make their second big trade in a week, packaging Miles Bridges to Phoenix. Are they trying to undo the good fortune of last year?

(48:42) There’s plenty of wheeling and dealing in the NHL over the weekend. I’ll recap the top draft stories in Buffalo, as well as, share which players will have new addresses next year.

(56:53) Wimbledon is underway as the third tennis major has arrived. Is Serena Williams return a big story? I’ll get into what I think we should watch out for (Jannik Sinner vs. the heat. Can Aryna Sabalenka rebound?) as the All England Club is set for two weeks of competitive play.

And MUCH MORE in between!

Guardians, Mets, Yanks Clinging To Division Leads. Serena's Final Bow. Or Not? College Football Wild First Weekend & Playoff Expansion. NFL Over/Unders. D. Mitchell To Cavs: A Contender In East?
Guardians, Mets, Yanks Clinging To Division Leads. Serena's Final Bow. Or Not? College Football Wild
JAYREELZ

I'm revved up and ready to go as I deliver a full docket of sports analysis as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(6:28) After a birthday shout out to my brother and a brief description of what to expect on the podcast, I go in on the division races in baseball that all of a sudden has some teeth to it. The Guardians are hanging for dear life in an AL Central that has the Twins and White Sox nipping at their heels. The Mets are now one game ahead of the Braves in the NL East. What would it mean for the psyche if the do blow this lead? Then, there's the Yankees. Is it possible that they could choke the AL East away? What about the status of the manager, Aaron Boone if they don't get to an ALCS? I'll bring you up to date on all that's happening with the pennant races. I'll even take a peek at my over/under numbers to see where I'm at as we're a month away from the season concluding. And Albert Pujols is five home runs away from 700 for his career. What the sports media needs to do if he does achieve this before the season is complete?

(34:23) Serena Williams fought hard, but bowed out of the third round of the US Open in all likelihood, concluding her tennis career. Or not? I'll explain why she should walk away. I'll get into who's left on the women's side of the draw, Nick Kyrgios's upset of top seed, Daniil Medvedev and which men could be the last two standing as we get closer to the end of the final Grand Slam of the year.

(41:32) College football is back as I'll highlight the big games over the weekend. (i.e. Georgia pounding Oregon, Ohio St. prevailing over the Fighting Irish. Utah couldn't seal the deal vs. Florida) And a wild ending between Florida St. and LSU. In bigger news, the College Football playoff will take place. They're targeting 2026, but it could happen as early as 2024. It's long overdue, but I do have one caveat that needs to be addressed as we're still a couple of years before this is introduced into our consciousness.

(51:07) With the NFL starting on Thursday, I'll throw out a few over/under numbers at you before I make my selections on the next podcast. There is one that has me a bit perplexed. Will I take this one team as an under?

(54:39) Donovan Mitchell is on the move as he goes to the Cavaliers. Does this make a young core with Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley a threat in the Eastern Conference? And what about the Knicks, who were rumored to get Mitchell? Another disgraceful attempt by a team at the top of the organization which is not only silent, but faceless, among other things. I'll also discuss the severity of Celtics Danilo Gallinari's knee injury that he suffered a week and a half ago. Plus, Bulls guard, Lonzo Ball looks like he'll miss the start of the regular season after surgery that took place in January!

Dodgers-Mets Showdown. Judge/Pujols Chasing HR Milestones. Yanks: AL East Slipping? Serena Survives. A Top Heavy College Football Preview. Gruden's Shameful Speech. John Wall's Recovery
Dodgers-Mets Showdown. Judge/Pujols Chasing HR Milestones. Yanks: AL East Slipping? Serena Survives.
JAYREELZ

As we finally get out of the Sports Dead Zone, Pt. 2, I've got plenty to get into as we can say 'hallelujah' and embrace a new month as we turn the calendar to September. On deck:

(5:36) After a brief rundown, I'll get into how thrilling the Dodgers-Mets series has been so far. Is this an NLCS preview? Aaron Judge and Albert Pujols are within distance of some historic home run milestones (61 & 700, respectively) The sport needs to be on top of this and celebrate it as it's become an afterthought with college football and the NFL back in our consciousness. Are the Yankees in the process of choking away an insurmountable lead in the AL East? The status of Justin Verlander's right calf. White Sox manager Tony LaRussa is out indefinitely due to health issues.

(23:32) Serena Williams wins her second round match at the US Open in three sets, which begs the question? Will this propel her to a long tournament run? Or did she leave it all out on the court to where she won't make it out of the weekend? On the men's side, the expected top players are still around (i.e. Nadal, Medvedev, etc.) Nick Kyrgios is trying to make it back to back Grand Slam finals runs. Can he do so?

(29:33) College football is back! I'll have a top heavy preview of the few (and likely) teams that will possibly be in the National Championship Game. And if any Cinderella teams (i.e. Cincinnati last year) has a shot to make it to the playoff on New Year's Eve? I'll take a look at three of the bigger matchups over the holiday weekend that could impact the race for the College Football Playoff.

(39:47) The NFL season starts a week from tonight. But my focus isn't on that at the moment. One thing I want to get off of my chest is former Raider coach Jon Gruden's shameful speech as he is shooting his shot to get back into football. I'm far from the morality police, but there are a few things that need to be said in light of his lame comments at the Little Rock Touchdown Club a couple of days ago that you won't want to miss. Also, Jimmy Garoppolo stays by the bay as he'll suit up for the 49ers as a backup this season. Why that could potentially cause a huge quarterback controversy down the road?

(49:52) LA Clippers guard John Wall revealed that he had contemplated suicide recently because of dealing with the loss of family members and his own physical health, as he's been out of the lineup the past couple of years. I bring this up to shed light that even with the status, big contracts and lifestyle, they are human beings at the end of the day.

(52:57) Cameron Smith, the #2 golfer in the world, transitions to the LIV Golf League. Was it a big surprise? Was this the worst kept secret in the sport?

The 'Not Too High or Too Low' Theme From NFL Week 1, Except? Steelers 'Not Ready For Primetime', Mets 'Not Ready For Postseason' Tirades, MLB Wild Card Latest, Rafa Wins, Serena Loses AGAIN at US Open
The 'Not Too High or Too Low' Theme From NFL Week 1, Except...? Steelers 'Not Ready For Primetime',
JAYREELZ

I'm in a feisty, awful sports mood, so hide the women and children, because Episode 90 promises to be full of smoke and fire. On deck:

In fourteen NFL cities this morning, either they're setting up the Super Bowl parade route or ready to draft for the number one pick. But there are two excpetions. I'll explain. I'll also go around the league and assess the damage up in Foxborough as the Steelers no showed vs. the Patriots.

The Mets have put their postseason hopes in the trash after a brutal loss in Washington and losing two out of three vs. Philadelphia. Mickey Callaway may have seen his managerial position go out the window with some very questionable moves this week. I have plenty of ammunition on this and I'll also recap the latest in the AL & NL Wild Card races.

Rafael Nadal has inched closer in his quest to catch Roger Federer for most Mens' Grand Slam titles. Serena Williams has now lost back to back Wimbledon and US Open Finals as she's stuck on 23 Grand Slam victories. Hear my take on both legendary figures and what may lie ahead in 2020 now that the Tennis Slams are done for the year.

Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

The ides of July presents Episode 80 as we zoom through the entire sports landscape. On tap:

Just sixteen days until the trade deadline in MLB. What the Yankees and Mets may have in store? The two moves over the weekend that start the trade carousel and what we may see from the other contenders.

Russell Westbrook has a new home and it's with his old running mate, James Harden in Houston. Will it work? Can it work? You may be surprised to hear my take, also, will CP3 still be a member of the Thunder come training camp?

Novak Djokovic wins an epic Wimbledon final vs. Roger Federer. Where does he rank amongst the big three (with Roger and Nadal) and all-time?

Plus, a preview of the Open (formerly British) Championship at Royal Portrush. And my Hero and Zero of the Week.
