I’m honored to welcome in a new partnership to the podcast. Are you familiar with Olipop soda? If not, you’ll definitely want to acquaint yourself with this healthy, crisp and refreshing beverage that has no GMO’s, organic with natural ingredients that you can read. They have the classics (Vintage Cola, Root Beer, Ginger Ale, Lemon Lime) as well as new flavors that are irresistible (Banana Cream, Watermelon Lime and my favorite, Tropical Punch) Please go to www.drinkolipop.com, type in SODALOVE for 15% off of your purchase.

It’s another full bodied, sports rich podcast that’ll have your cup runneth over. A jam packed, hour and fifteen minute show I’m honored to deliver. On deck:

(3:59) The Conference Semifinals in the NBA and NHL have begun, but I’ll tip off with the Association to recap a few series (Knicks survive in Philadelphia. The Mavericks wrangle the Clippers. What’s next for the Clips as a long offseason looms? Indiana puts Milwaukee out to pasture. What’s the after effects of another disappointing playoff exit? And Patrick Beverley’s fate for inexplicably throwing a ball at a fan? Orlando pushes Cleveland to the brink, but Donovan Mitchell wills his team to the next round to set up a date with the top seeded Celtics. We already have one game in the books as the Minnesota Timberwolves steal the home court advantage with Anthony Edwards scoring 43 points in beating the defending champion Denver Nuggets. Is Edwards on the verge of being the ‘face’ of the NBA? I’ll preview the other series (CLE-BOS, IND-NY and DAL-OKC) as we get one step closer to crowning a champion. I’ll get into some coaching moves and what the Lakers will do after firing Darvin Ham after two years.

(34:33) On the ice, there were a couple of Game 7’s to unpack. One was thrilling and went into OT as the Bruins avoided back to back first round series ousters, delivering a gut punch to the Maple Leafs ending their season. What do the Leafs need to do to regroup? Dallas rallied back from an 0-2 deficit to hang on and beat the defending Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights at home. The Canucks dealt another tough loss to the Predators in Game 6 to advance and face the Edmonton Oilers in the next round. I’ll review the Rangers Game 1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes and preview the other three matchups (BOS-FLA, COL-DAL & EDM-VAN) as Round 2 has commenced.

(49:47) MLB has a few things cooking into the new month. The best team in baseball is not the Atlanta Braves, LA Dodgers or Baltimore Orioles. It’s the Philadelphia Phillies! They have the top record in the sport. Could this team be in the running for the top team in the NL throughout the summer? I’ll get into Aaron Judge getting ejected for the first time in his career. The Mets get swept in Tampa and closer Edwin Diaz has sputtered of late. What about the Marlins trading their best player (Luis Arraez) on May 3rd!!?? Why are they in operation? I’ll peek to see what else is going on in baseball as we march into a new month.

(1:05:25) I have just a few transactions in the NFL, highlighted by Odell Beckham Jr. signing a one year deal in Miami.

(1:07:28) The 150th Kentucky Derby was a thriller, to say the least. It was a photo finish between three horses with 18-1 Mystik Dan being the winner. Is it possible that he’s going to pass on running the Preakness? What will that do for the race, even the sport overall, if that’s the case?

(1:12:44) Canelo Alvarez retains his title beating previously unbeaten Jaime Munguia Saturday night in Las Vegas. Did anyone watch? Does anyone care?

Scherzer Snakes His Way Out Of NY, Angels Make Push As MLB Trade Deadline Looms. Colts Controversy, Aaron Rodgers Fires Back At Sean Payton. Crawford/Gaithje Dominate On Saturday Night

As July comes to a conclusion, I'll take a look back AND look ahead to what the sports galaxy has to offer as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(3:44) The MLB trade deadline is tomorrow at 6pm. Some teams have been wheeling and dealing to fortify their rosters for a playoff stretch run (i.e. Angels), but the biggest deal to date was the Mets sending Max Scherzer to Texas for a minor league prospect. I GO IN on why this needed to happen? How Scherzer snaked his way out of town? And will the Mets make more deals before the deadline comes and goes? You won't want to miss what I have to say about this, as well as, the current state of the AL/NL wild card races. Can the Padres kick start their season after a sweep vs. the Rangers? The Brewers free fall. A HUGE week for the Yankees and much more as the dog days of August are on the horizon.

(32:22) Some controversy is brewing in Indianapolis as star running back, Jonathan Taylor and the front office are playing a psychological tug of war. The front office states that Taylor suffered a non football injury as he failed a physical prior to the start of training camp, whereas Taylor, says that's not the case. Could this get ugly quick as Taylor is in the final year of his rookie contract? Let the soap opera begin with the Jets as Aaron Rodgers has come to the defense of his current offensive coordinator and former Broncos head coach, Nathaniel Hackett. This comes in light of comments made by the current Denver coach, Sean Payton towards Hackett where QB Russell Wilson was mishandled throughout last year. Is this anything to keep on our radar as both teams will matchup in Week 5? Bengals fans have their fingers crossed as Joe Burrow went down with a calf injury in a non contact play during a drill on Thursday. Any long term concerns for the franchise QB? The Vikings avoided a breakup with star pass rusher Danielle Hunter as they agree on a one year deal.

(42:04) Terence Crawford showed Errol Spence Jr. a thing or two about being a welterweight champion as he dominated with a 9th round TKO on Saturday night. What's next for Crawford? And how will Spence recuperate from such a rough loss?

(44:31) Justin Gaethje had to wait five years to avenge his loss to Dustin Poirier winning by KO in the second round with a head kick. Could a third installment be in the works between the two fighters?

(46:16) Not much happening in the NHL or NBA. Although I do discuss Vladimir Tarasenko finds a home in Ottawa. While nothing much is happening on the Damian Lillard trade front as a memo went out to the 30 teams regarding the Blazers star guard.

Angels Fire First Trade Deadline Shot. Who'll Be On The Move? Saquon Stays, But End Is Near? Harbaugh's Weak Suspension. Brown Signs NBA's Richest Contract. Bergeron Retires. Any Crawford-Spence Hype?

There's quite a bit to get into as I close out the week with my third podcast detailing all that's transpired in the world of sports. On deck:

(3:15) The MLB trade deadline is days away. Who would've thought that the Angels are the first team to get the ball rolling as they acquire pitcher Lucas Giolito from the White Sox. Not only are they looking to contend as they're four games back of the AL Wild Card, but is this a message sent to Shohei Ohtani that they mean business? I'll go through some of the other key players that have been rumored to be dealt by the August 1st deadline. And also, bring you up to speed on the Wild Card races in both leagues and see where we stand heading into the final weekend of July.

(22:11) NFL training camps are open throughout the nation. Aaron Rodgers takes a significant pay cut in New York, which'll free up cap space to bring in more players as they look to make a Super Bowl run. Giants RB Saquon Barkley signs a one year deal to stay in NY. Why I think this is his last year on the G-Men? I'll cover a few other big signings (i.e. Andrew Thomas, Trevon Diggs and Justin Herbert) as we're six weeks away from the start of the regular season.

(27:46) Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is facing a four game suspension for recruiting violations back in 2020. Was this a slap on the wrist? Why wasn't Harbaugh up front? Should the suspension been harsher?

(32:18) Jaylen Brown has signed the richest contract in NBA history as he re-ups with the Celtics for $304 million dollars. Is he worth it? Is it more of the system than the player? Then you had the unfortunate story regarding Bronny James as he recovers from cardiac arrest that he suffered during a practice at USC.

(39:24) Longtime Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron goes off into the sunset and retires after 19 seasons with the organization. Does he belong on the teams Mount Rushmore? Sebastian Aho signs an eight year deal to stay in Carolina. And a sad note as Blackhawks CEO Rocky Wirtz dies at the age of 70.

(43:37) You have a good marquee fight on Saturday night in boxing as Errol Spence Jr. will square off against Terence Crawford. Is this match a few years too late? As for the UFC, you have another Dustin Poirier-Justin Gaethje bout as they'll go at it for a second time.

Jokic Suspension? Warriors/Knicks Up For Key GM 4's? Panthers Prowling Towards Cup? Rays Winning Ways, Braves Cruising, Pirates Back To Earth? NFL Schedule Talk. Derby Downer? Canelo Beat Who?

I'm jacked up and ready to share my thoughts on all of the happenings in the sports world over the past few days. On deck:

(2:53) For starters, I released a new podcast with a special guest. If you're a subscriber of the podcast, I'm sure you've already seen or listened to my discussion with Action Network's Maria Marino as we get into various topics surrounding her broadcasting journey, biggest influences, etc. You can also watch the full interview on YouTube Please subscribe, give it a like as I release content daily on that platform. I also send a birthday shout out to my grandson, Cameron, who turns eight as well.

(4:31) Devin Booker (who's been the best player to date in the NBA Playoffs) and Kevin Durant have led the attack from an 0-2 deficit to even their series vs. Denver. The big story out of last night's game was Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, who had a brief run-in on the sidelines with Suns owner Mat Ishbia trying to get the ball from his arms. Is a suspension warranted to the former two-time MVP? The Celtics-Sixers series is deadlocked at two apiece as James Harden had another big game after a flop of a Game 3. Two big tests on the road for the Warriors & Knicks as they face critical Game 4's tonight. How this could define the Warriors as they defend their title?

(24:11) Who will stop the Florida Panthers? They've been flying since they roared back from a 3-1 deficit vs. Boston. Are they on a track to going to a Stanley Cup Final? What about the Seattle Kraken as they dismantle the Dallas Stars at home in Game 3? The Devils bounced back with a big effort in Game 3 vs. Carolina. Can the do the same in Game 4? And the Oilers got even with Vegas as the scene shifts to Edmonton for the next two. Why it's important for their psyche to win these next two in their building?

(36:44) Baseball has had an interesting first month plus as we approach the middle of May. The Rays continue their winning ways with a big come from behind win vs. the Yankees. While the Braves are starting to run away with the NL East as they have the biggest division margin (seven games) over any other in the sport. The Pirates are still in first place, but have come back to Earth as they've lost seven in a row. Plus, anything and everything happening throughout the MLB and even a few words about my dreadful Mets, who have hit the skids losing 11 of 14. There's also sad news to report as former Oakland A's great, Vida Blue passed away on Saturday at the age of 73.

(49:21) I'll share a prediction of what matchup will open the NFL season in Kansas City as the 2023 schedule will be released on Thursday.

(51:53) Mage wins the 149th Kentucky Derby, but it's an afterthought to more sordid details coming out of Churchill Downs as two more horses had to be put down after races leading up to the Run for the Roses. Will something be done about this? Is it time for this sport to go away completely?

(54:52) Canelo Alvarez defended his super middleweight title in his homeland of Mexico on Saturday night vs. John Ryder. John who? Did anyone pay attention or watch?

Bucks/Grizzlies Need To Win For Intriguing 1st Round. Bruins Rebound, Oilers Survive & Leafs Gut Check Lead NHL. The First Place Pirates? Rodgers/Lamar Swallow NFL Draft? Davis-Garcia: Unimpressed

Another month is coming to a close, but the beginning of two action packed podcasts are on the horizon as I'll come correct on all that's going on in the sports galaxy. On deck:

(3:31) There hasn't been a lot of drama in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Sixers have swept the Nets into the spring (Joel Embiid's health & Nets direction after so much promise before the season began is an addendum), the Celtics are one game away from advancing. The Nuggets were unable to sweep the Timberwolves, but still hold a commanding 3-1 series lead. What about the Knicks? Winning both home games as they're up 3-1, whereas, the Suns won both games in LA vs. the Clippers looking to close them out at home in Game 5 (I have some serious thoughts on the Kawhi Leonard injury and his future, which has sabotaged this series). The Warriors have climbed back to even their series vs. Sacramento to deliver some intrigue and excitement. Can they win one road game, which is what they'll need to do in order to get to the next round? But we'll have to bank on both Memphis and Milwaukee to tie their respective series which resume tonight. I'll get into the state of the Grizzlies as they're at a crossroad to their season, with a lot of controversy surrounding their chirpy, defensive leader Dillon Brooks. And will Giannis Antetokounmpo return from a back injury that's kept him out since the first quarter of Game 1?

(24:29) We're hoping for a lot of drama in the Stanley Cup Playoffs as we enter the second week of the first round. The Bruins have bounced back nicely as they won both games in Florida to take a commanding 3-1 lead. The Islanders face that same deficit after a deplorable Game 4 in their building vs. Carolina. Can they bring the series back to Long Island for Game 6? A classic is brewing out West between the Kings-Oilers as they've played three of the four games into OT, where Edmonton prevailed in Game 4. The Maple Leafs had a huge gut check win in Tampa as they scored in the final minute to tie, then win in OT over the Lightning to take a 2-1 series lead. Let's see what'll take place tonight if any of those series (i.e. NYR-NJ, TB-TOR, SEA-COL or WPG-VEGAS) can draw even to add some suspense as the opening round continues.

(38:18) Don't look now, but the Pittsburgh Pirates are in FIRST PLACE! You read that right! They've done a wonderful job of late. Winners of seven in a row and even gave the manager, Derek Shelton an extension. Unfortunately, it comes with a caveat. How about the Orioles as they've been riding high, winning 10 of 12 to secure second place behind Tampa Bay in the AL East. The Astros seem to have come out of their early season doldrums as they swept the Braves in Atlanta over the weekend. My beloved Mets are coming off a 7-3 West Coast trip, but couldn't secure a series win in San Francisco as they lost the back two after winning the first couple. Then we have the Oakland A's. A team that could flirt with the 1962 Mets record for futility. They have a stadium issue unlike any other. They are drawing flies, but there is some hope as the possibility of relocating could be in the works.

(50:09) The NFL will have their annual draft in Kansas City on Thursday. Is it possible that reports, rumors or news of Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson seeking new destinations could swallow the festivities later this week?

(53:32) A highly anticipated match between Gervonta 'Tank' Davis & Ryan Garcia fell way short of the hype as Davis wins by KO in the 7th round. There's been talk about Davis being the "face of boxing". Is that accurate? Are there any contenders in his class that could threaten that?

Ravens/Niners Suffer QB Injuries Critical To Playoff Race, TCU Belongs In The CFP. PrimeTime Moves To Colorado! deGrom Signs With Texas. Mets: Your Move! USA Bows Out Of World Cup

As winter approaches, the sports scene always stays hot as I bring to you the latest episode with all that's going on in the sports universe. On deck:

(3:25) After briefly discussing Anthony Davis's 55 point barrage as the Lakers try to get back to .500, I kick off the podcast with an NFL Week 13 that had some intriguing matchups, but for the most part, left us wanting more. I'll get into my winners (i.e. Baltimore & San Francisco) and losers (i.e. Patriots, Commanders & Giants) of the week as the playoff picture starts to get a little clearer as we're into the month of December.

(26:07) Just when we thought that USC & TCU would win their conference championship games and solidify their spot in the college football playoff, they both lose (USC badly and inexcusably, after being up 17-3 then outscored 44-3. And TCU fought valiantly but lost in OT) So Ohio State takes over USC's #4 spot in the country, while TCU stays at #3. Did they deserve to stay at #3? I'll dissect all that happened over the weekend as I set the stage for the Final Four on New Year's Eve. I'll also get into the hire of Deion Sanders by the University of Colorado, what does this mean for him? The school? The PAC-12? And what he'll need to do there to be successful?

(42:12) Jacob deGrom is one of the first major free agents off the market as he signs with the Texas Rangers on a five year/185.5 million dollar contract. Is yours truly upset or hurt by his defection? More importantly, what are the Mets going to do to replace the two time Cy Young award winner? With the baseball winter meetings beginning today, what could be percolating as far as rumors are concerned over the next few days? (Hello, Aaron Judge!) Cooperstown will have a new member in the Hall of Fame as Fred McGriff was nominated by the contemporary baseball committee yesterday. Is he deserving of this honor? What about some of the other nominees on the list? (i.e. Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Curt Schilling, Rafael Palmeiro, Albert Belle, etc.)

(53:13) The USA soccer team weren't able to upend Netherlands to move on in the World Cup. I'll recap their final game of the tournament, look at what's taken place (Germany and Belgium done, Lionel Messi's achievements, Brazil's key injuries, etc.) and look ahead to what we can possibly expect as we're less than two weeks from the championship match.

(1:00:09) Tyson Fury's comeback led him to a 10th round TKO over Derek Chisora. Now, he's calling out other fighters in his class as he's ready to resurrect his career after a few month layoff.

Astros/Verlander: On The Ropes In Philly? A New Look NFC? Cold Water On Vikes/Eagles In NFL Week 8. Vols-Dogs SEC Matchup. Bucks: NBA's Best? Bruins: NHL's Best? Taking Jake Paul Seriously?

There will be plenty of tricks, treats with a few goblins and ghosts sprinkled in as your little sports podcast host has lots to share on this creepy, spooky Halloween episode. On deck:

(3:05) The World Series is two games in and both the Phillies-Astros are tied at one apiece. Now the scene shifts to Philadelphia for the next three. What could we possibly expect? Can the Phillies continue their winning ways at home, where they haven't lost in the postseason? Could Justin Verlander be in a situation where he needs to take his team home to take a series lead or survive to see another day? Lots of fascinating and compelling storylines as Game 3 and the series picks up tonight.

(17:58) Who would've thought that in Week 8 of the NFL season the NFC would NOT have the Rams, Buccaneers and Packers at the top of the conference, let alone their respective divisions? I'll share my winners (49ers & Seahawks) and losers (Panthers & Jets) and throw some cold water on chasing points on senseless two-point conversions (i.e. Bears vs. Cowboys), the Vikings and Eagles as they've only lost one game between them this year. Don't worry, I'll fully explain why I feel a certain way about the two front runners in the NFC.

(48:51) College football was very low key this past Saturday. Ohio State took care of business against Penn State to stay at #2 in the country, but they do have some company as Tennessee is tied with the Buckeyes for the second best team in the nation. Tennessee goes to Georgia on Saturday in a Clash of the Titans in the sport. I'll get into some bad losses by Oklahoma State and Wake Forest, two teams at the bottom of the top 10 who were ambushed by Kansas State and Louisville, respectively.

(52:49) The Association ends the month with the Lakers finally getting a win, a losing streak and more issues with Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn, but the bigger story is the Milwaukee Bucks. They are the last undefeated team in the league. Are they also the best at this juncture of the early part of the season? I'll take a look at what else is going on throughout the NBA as we're almost three weeks in.

(59:06) On the ice, the Boston Bruins have been the league's best almost a month into the campaign. (Although the Golden Knights are right there with them at this point.) I'll skate through what's going on in the NHL, including the Arizona Coyotes are now playing their home games where? A college university? And what is it called?

(1:05:08) Jake Paul was victorious in an eight round bout over MMA legend, Anderson Silva on Saturday night. Should we take him seriously as a fighter who has ability, but hasn't faced an opponent in his weight class or ilk on a professional level?

Guardians In Control, Mets-Braves NL East Rockfight. Judge/Pujols Chasing Milestones. Unlikely NFL Road Comebacks Lead Week 2. Ho-Hum College Saturday. Canelo Tops GGG. Federer Calls It Quits

As summer starts to wind down, I’m just getting started on plenty that’s happening in the sports world as you’ll get my takes, analysis and opinions on all of it. On deck:

(4:45) The MLB season has come into the home stretch. The Guardians have control over the AL Central. They can really put a stranglehold in the division as the Twins and White Sox are on the schedule this week. The NL East will come down to its final games. The Mets now go to Milwaukee after a four game sweep over the Pirates, while the Braves come off of a sweep themselves at the hands of the Phillies and have the lowly Nationals come into Atlanta this week. Will the Mets still be in first place come Thursday? I'll peek at what's happening in the AL & Wild Card race, as well as, another race to some major milestones. Both Aaron Judge and Albert Pujols are two home runs away from tying the AL HR mark (and Yankees too) set by Roger Maris and 700 HR's for a career respectively.

(18:03) There were some remarkable comebacks by three road teams in the NFL yesterday that highlight the winners & losers segment of Week 2. The Dolphins and Jets headline the winners as they come back from a 21 point fourth quarter deficit and a 13 point deficit with less than two minutes to go respectively. As for the Colts (who were shutout at Jacksonville) and Raiders, who coughed up a 20-0 halftime lead in a 29-23 overtime loss to Arizona at home, they were clearly the losers of the week. I know the Niner fan is happy that Jimmy Garoppolo is now the starting quarterback after Trey Lance suffered a season ending broken ankle. Why luck prevailed, sadly to injury, for the Niners to still have a big season? But remember, he was pretty much discarded like yesterday's newspaper. I'll recap the rest of the schedule as we wrap up the week with a doubleheader tonight (TEN-BUF, MIN-PHI).

(39:27) Week 3 in college football was rather ho-hum, although you had a couple of good bounce back wins as Oregon and Texas A&M rebound from early season defeats. Could they still be part of the college football playoff discussion?

(42:59) Canelo Alvarez unanimously defeats Gennady Golovkin to retain the super middleweight title this past Saturday. Did it live up to the pre-fight hype?

(44:59) Roger Federer calls is a career as he retires from the sport of tennis. I'll take a look back on his illustrious career and where does he rank all time, especially with his contemporaries Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, with whom he battled against for several years.

Tatis Jr's. Suspension A Big Hit To SD's Series Chances? Jet Fans Exhale On QB Wilson's Knee. Deshaun Watson's Apology. Too Little, Too Late? Surprise At Top Of NBA Over/Unders. Tyson Fury Walks Away

The middle of August brings another passion filled, action packed podcast as I delve in on a couple of interesting topics to rev up your sports engine. On deck:

(4:33) Fernando Tatis Jr. surprised baseball as MLB handed down an 80 game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Will his absence hurt or help the Padres as they're in the middle of a heated wild card race? I'll go through the entire landscape and discuss the fight for the AL Central (Guardians, Twins, White Sox), NL Central (Cardinals & Brewers), NL East (as the Mets and Braves square off for four games in Atlanta) The Dodgers have their 12 game winning streak snapped and the Yankees are scuffling as they come off of a 2-7 road trip. Plus, the latest in the wild card as Tampa Bay did a nice job rebounding from a series opening loss to Baltimore to win the back two and almost had a perfect game pitched by Drew Rasmussen.

(24:53) The Jet fan can breathe the ultimate sigh of relief as their franchise QB, Zach Wilson will only miss 2-4 weeks after suffering a knee injury vs. Philadelphia on Friday night. It was feared that he tore his ACL, which would've had him out for the season, but for now, Wilson is on target to make a speedy recovery. If he's not quite 100%, do you want to see him out there Week 1 vs. Baltimore? Then there's Deshaun Watson. He issued an apology before the first preseason game in Jacksonville on Friday. Is it a case of 'too little, too late'? Also, my defense of this whole scenario as people have been getting at me being judge, jury and executioner for someone who wasn't guilty in a criminal case. I'll have a thorough explanation as to why he needs to be suspended for more than the six games that was handed to him a few weeks back.

(40:17) An early look at the NBA over/under win totals have been released. I was quite shocked to see who was listed at the top of the list. It wasn't the Lakers, Nets, Suns or even the champs in the Warriors. If you don't know, you'll have to listen and hear for yourself.

(44:48) Boxing’s heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, walks away from the sport at the age of 34. Do you think this is it? Or will we see him sometime down the road? I’ll get into how the title ‘heavyweight champion of the world’ has fallen so far from our sports consciousness it isn’t even funny.

Colts Stampede, Titan-ic Upset Highlights NFL WK 12 Winners & Losers. Ohio St.: Hottest Team In Nation? Lakers Malaise. Islanders Sinking. MLB Signings

As you prepare to give thanks for all that's in your life through food, family and football, I'll be sure to set the table with all of the fixins and serve up some hard hitting sports talk to whet your appetite as Episode #225 is hot out of the oven! On deck:

(6:50) The NFL had a very interesting Week 11, with some surprising winners (i.e. MIN & IND) and shocking losers (i.e. TEN & BUF) as I cover all that happened throughout the league. Is it time to take the Colts seriously? What about the Patriots? Can the Eagles make a run in the NFC East? Is the Chief defense for real? I'll share a take or two on the Steelers wild comeback falling short vs. the Chargers. I'll take an early peek at the Thanksgiving games (HINT: Not too much to write home about!) and a captivating Week 12 schedule to cap off your holiday weekend.

(40:36) The college football season continues to impress as there were not one, but two teams, that drop out of the running for the playoff set for New Year's Eve as Michigan State and Oregon were embarrassed on Saturday. What does this mean for Cincinnati? Are they an automatic to make the college football playoff? Is Ohio State the hottest team in the country? I'll preview what will be a fascinating slate of games this weekend, highlighted by the grudge match at the Big House between Ohio St. vs. Michigan.

(55:58) The Lakers (aka The Expendables) haven't been able to get in sync during the early part of the season. The big news was the fracas in Detroit where LeBron James whacked Isaiah Stewart across the face after a free throw attempt. Will this team get out of their malaise any time soon? I compare them to another veteran team of the past that had their shortcomings, but made it to an NBA Final in the process. I'll also get into the potential return of Klay Thompson, the first coach fired this season comes from the Sacramento Kings, a huge loss for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Phoenix Suns torrid streak and other top stories from the past week in the Association.

(1:06:00) The Islanders have ended their 13 game odyssey throughout North America with two home games in their brand spanking new arena (UBS Arena) over the past weekend. But when they ended their long road trip with a four game losing streak, only to top it off with two more losses at home, which begs the question. Will they be able to turn it around quickly and not fall any deeper in the Eastern Conference? I'll discuss the latest with a key player from the two time defending Cup champions going out indefinitely with an injury (TB's Brayden Point), a COVID breakout in Ottawa and the Thanksgiving Friday game which has become an annual matchup between two original six teams (i.e. Rangers-Bruins)

(1:15:53) There's been some activity in free agency throughout baseball with the impending doom of the collective bargaining agreement expiring on December 1st. Some pitchers have re-signed with their team (Toronto's Jose Berrios) and some have changed addresses, which includes former Mets starter, Noah Syndergaard. So you know I have a couple of things to get off of my chest about this. The Yankees are posturing for a big off-season, but again, baseball armageddon is coming. Will it be a long, cold, hard winter for the sport? I also have a few choice words for super agent Scott Boras as he chimes in about how teams are 'tanking' before the trade deadline and how it affects business with his clients.

(1:22:54) Welterweight Terence Crawford wins in a 10th round TKO over Shawn Porter on Saturday night. Is there a chance that we can see a fight with Errol Spence, Jr. on the horizon?

(1:24:59) In closing, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

NFL Takes Shots To The 'Shield' (Rodgers, Ruggs & Odell) WK 9 Winners/Losers, Michigan St. Meltdown, Suns Sarver Next In Line To Go? Eichel To Vegas: Who Won The Deal? Canelo: All Time Great?

Another sport has crowned a champion, so the fall sports are now front and center. I've got all that's shaking throughout the entire landscape as Episode #223 is chock full of opinions, analysis and critiques ready for your listening pleasure. On deck:

(6:07) With baseball out of our consciousness, all of early part of the NBA, NHL seasons, the teeth of the college football schedule about to be played, it's going to be all about The Shield (a.k.a. The NFL) They went through a week that they'd like to forget as the league had to endure one its players involved in a fatal car accident (i.e. Henry Ruggs) a positive COVID test and spoken untruth from arguably its best player (i.e. Aaron Rodgers) and drama surrounding its talented, yet mercurial wide receiver (i.e. Odell Beckham, Jr.) as he gets his release from the Cleveland Browns. Of course, I'll discuss my winners (Denver & Cleveland) and losers (Buffalo, LA Rams, New Orleans) of Week 9 and how this season has been underwhelming to date.

(40:22) The craziness of college football has come to roost yet again as Michigan State falls by the wayside and are on the outside looking in for the playoffs come New Year's Eve. I'll detail the week that was in the sport, including an early look as to who I see making it to the college football playoff late next month.

(50:56) I'll recap a World Series championship win by the Atlanta Braves, as unexpected of a Series run that we've seen. Now, we must fasten our seatbelts for what looks like a long, cold, hard winter of negotiations as the owners and players will have to come up with a new CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) which will most likely be a fight to the bitter end. Will there be a new agreement in time for the 2022 season? Will it be delayed? Postponed?

(56:17) The NBA is going to have to deal with another scenario regarding an owner with alleged racist and misogynistic comments as Robert Sarver of the Suns has been reported in the past week by ESPN. Even with the investigation ongoing, what should the NBA do? Is Sarver on his way out? I'll also take a trip around the Association to see what's the latest, including normalcy is back in the Eastern Conference, Joel Embiid will have to sit out due to a positive COVID test and is this the beginning of the end of LeBron James's indestructibility.

(1:03:52) The ongoing saga in Buffalo with center Jack Eichel has come to an end. He gets dealt to the Vegas Golden Knights for players and draft picks. Who got the better of the deal? Plus, Sidney Crosby's return to the ice from a wrist injury was brief (i.e. COVID) and the rest of what's happening on the ice as we're closing in on the first complete month of the NHL season.

(1:13:27) Canelo Alvarez has unified all four titles in the super middleweight division. With his record (57-1-2, 39 KO's) is he considered an all time great fighter in the history of boxing?

(1:20:05) In MMA, Kamaru Usman defeats longtime rival Colby Covington in a close decision on Saturday night as they've competed in ten fights! Is this one time (or five times) too many? Has this matchup become tiresome?

(1:22:50) Of course, I wrap up with my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Rays On The Ropes/MLB Postseason Update, Chiefs Ineptitude Headline WK 5 Winners & Losers, 'Bama Done For Playoff? 21-22 NHL Preview. Fury-Wilder III A Classic?

It was a busy sports week throughout the landscape so you know I got you covered as Episode #219 is ready to rumble with some fast paced, action packed sports talk. On deck:

(5:08) I start off with some housekeeping to forewarn you about playing injured as I battle through the podcast with a very hoarse voice.

(6:28) I recap the past week of the MLB playoffs as I get into the controversy of Game 3 with the ground rule double of the Red Sox-Rays. Can the Rays save their historic regular season and push the series to a decisive fifth game? The Astros took a 2-0 series lead, but the White Sox have made it interesting, amidst reports of a Sox pitcher claiming that there may be some sign stealing going on. Can the Astros close them out in their own park? In the National League, the Dodgers evened up their hotly contested series against their bitter rivals in San Francisco. Can the defending champs close out the 107 regular season win Giants? And will the Braves be able to upset the Brewers in a low scoring couple of games that led to a split in Milwaukee? I'll also discuss the exits of two managers in San Diego and my beloved Mets as they'll be in search mode for a new skipper.

(24:38) The week (five) that was in the NFL was rather quiet despite a couple of exciting games. I'll get into the winners (Rams & Eagles) and losers (Chiefs & Raiders as I go in on both teams, including the controversy surrounding Raider coach, Jon Gruden's comments a decade ago) and everything else that went down (ahem, Jaguars coach, Urban Meyer), including a look into Week 6 (which looks to be more of a bore) of the schedule.

(44:51) College football had a classic Red River Shootout (Oklahoma vs. Texas), but the Alabama Crimson Tide losing at Texas A&M was the top story of Saturday. What are their chances of making the college football playoff now that they've dropped to #5 in the nation? Plus, all of the other action as the top of the heap continues to flip flop as the drama builds in the sport.

(55:52) The fall and winter sports will usher in over the next two weeks. Up first, is the NHL as I'll preview the top storylines (Lightning three-peat? Kraken's inaugural season, Maple Leafs rebound from playoff disappointment. CORRECTION: The Maple Leafs did not win the Eastern Conference last year. It was the Northern Division), go through the divisions and present a Stanley Cup Final prediction and winner, which may or may not surprise you!

(1:09:17) I'll spend a minute or two on the damage control by the representation of Sixers guard, Ben Simmons as he's losing money by the second as he continues to not report to the team. Why this is going to be irreparable with the fans and the impact that it'll have if he stays in Philadelphia?

(1:10:39) There was a heavyweight fight in boxing as the third fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder squaring off in Vegas turned out to be an absolute slugfest. Was it an instant classic?

(1:13:02) To close out, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

(1:15:39) I'll also have a programming note for next week's podcast that you won't want to miss.

In Yanks We Trust Come October? Thumbs Down On Mets, Baez & Lindor. NFL Over/Unders, College Football Preview. New Lakers: The Expendables! Novak's 'Slam' Chase. Taking Jake Paul Seriously?

August is about to depart and September is around the corner, but in the moment is my take on all that's going on in sports as Episode #211 has arrived. On deck:

(5:55) The polar opposites of the New York baseball teams as they've made news in the sport this past week. First up, the Yankees just completed a 13 game winning streak, putting themselves in prime position to make the postseason. It does pose the question, do you trust this core (i.e. Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, Torres, etc.) to deliver a championship? (17:33) Another rant about the god forsaken team that I root for in the Mets. How analytics ruined a big start by Taijuan Walker, the Javier Baez 'Thumbs Down' fiasco to the fans and there MUST be a complete house cleaning in store from the top on down as this team needs to do some major self-analysis this offseason. Plus, I'll take a look at the MLB playoff landscape as we head into the final month of the season.

(43:00) The NFL season is a week plus upon us. I'll review the over/under win totals for the year. Perhaps I'll give you a peek as to who I may choose come next week. I'll even get into my potential knockout pool pick to start off Week 1. I'll highlight what's going on throughout the league with some news and notes.

(54:04) The college football season is underway. I'll get into the first matchup of note this past weekend, what lies ahead this weekend as the highlight game will take place between #5 Georgia vs. #3 Clemson. I'll preview if there'll be a change at the top of the college football rankings at all throughout the course of the year, the alliance between the PAC-12, ACC & Big Ten and who'll be Heisman hopefuls come December?

(1:02:14) The Association was quiet, but there were a few transactions that took place. The Knicks offered Julius Randle a fair extension for some team flexibility. The new look Lakers add another familiar piece in Rajon Rondo as I'm going to dub them 'The Expendables' after the action movie and its mega cast of action heroes of the past. Is Kevin Garnett's Celtic number worthy of being risen up to the rafters at the TD Garden in Boston?

(1:09:17) Some signings in the NHL, a change in representation for Sabres' Jack Eichel as I've discussed in a recent podcast and a sad, untimely passing of former player, Jimmy Hayes.

(1:13:55) The final major tennis tournament of the year (US Open) with the only storyline being Novak Djokovic's chase for immortality in completing the calendar Grand Slam. Will he do it? Will the pressure mount as he gets closer to winning? What about the women's side as Naomi Osaka returns for her first Slam appearance since the Australian Open.

(1:20:08) Jake Paul is continuing to make his way and name in the world of boxing as he wins a split decision against former MMA fighter, Tyron Woodley. Is this a guy that we're going to have to take seriously?

(1:23:05) A thrilling six hole playoff goes under the radar, because it wasn't a major golf tournament, had Patrick Cantlay winning over Bryson Dechambeau as golf starts to gear up for the Ryder Cup coming soon.

(1:25:01) And closing out with my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Officiating, Blake To BK, Jazz's Respect, Suns Rising Headlines NBA's 2nd Half. Zags/Baylor Inevitable? NHL's Wilson Suspension & Reputation. Lou Gehrig Day. 50th Anniv Of Ali-Frazier

The sports universe continues to travel at warp speed, so let me navigate you through the stratosphere as I have a lot to share as Episode 183 is ready for takeoff! On deck:

(4:56) The NBA All-Star Game has come and gone. It’ll be a rather swift recap as there are other important things to discuss. CORRECTION: Anfernee Simons is a member of the Portland Trail Blazers, NOT the Toronto Raptors. I had Raptors stuck in my head because he wore a throwback Tracy McGrady jersey to honor him in the dunk contest. Such as, the officiating and the interminable final two minutes of close ball games to start. I’ll also talk about the Blake Griffin signing to Brooklyn. Will he be a contributor to their rise in the East? The Joel Embiid/Ben Simmons COVID watch. James Harden’s return to Houston and Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta’s declaration of retiring Harden’s #13 with the franchise. (????) Utah’s respect factor in the West. An uprising in Phoenix and much more!

(33:01) Is a clash between Gonzaga and Baylor for the national title a foregone conclusion? Why I think Gonzaga needs to lose before the tournament? Michigan takes a slip and fall. Illinois shines in Big 10. Ohio State plummets. So does West Virginia. I’ll have an up to the minute review in college basketball as we enter Conference Championship Week as we’re just days away from Selection Sunday.

(42:38) The Washington Capitals, Tom Wilson draws a suspension for slamming Bruins D, Brandon Carlo into the boards. I have a logical and simple reason (although the league will NEVER let it happen) as to curtailing hits like that and why the NHL needs to enforce it? The retirement of Blackhawks D, Brent Seabrook. The Flames hire another coach as the coaching carousel continues in Calgary. The untimely death of Mark Pavelich.

(56:42) All is quiet in the MLB, but there are a few things to highlight. Shohei Ohtani’s progress as a starting pitcher. Trevor Bauer’s ‘one eyed’ perfect inning. Will that spark the Padres? Indians’ Jose Ramirez and Franmil Reyes COVID trials. The Mickey Callaway saga continues. Aaron Boone’s recovery. And why Lou Gehrig Day is what the MLB needs to connect with their history and the fans?

(1:08:17) The NFL will open for their business year next Wednesday. with JJ Watt leading the way to Arizona. Plus, Alex Smith’s candid comments on his departure from Washington.

(1:11:42) Bryson Dechambeau wins the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Will he pick up momentum as The Masters are a month away.

(1:12:53) Today marks the Golden Anniversary of arguably, the greatest sports night/event in the history of sports. Revisiting Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier at Madison Square Garden and the impact it had during that time and still resonates today.

(1:19:05) Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

NFL's '4th Quarter', Week 13 Winners/Losers, FBS 'Chalk', Wall/Russ Trade, Lakers Repeat Chances, #1 Zags COVID Conflict, NHL Outdoors? Floyd/Paul Bout?

Keeping you up to date on everything that’s happening in the world of sports, Episode 167 has chock full of opinions, analysis for the casual or diehard fan. On deck:

(3:14) The NFL’s is headed into the ‘4th quarter’ of their season. The race to the playoffs are starting to heat up. My thoughts on the winners and losers of Week 13. Are the Cardinals ready for primetime? A QB controversy in Philadelphia? Jadaveon Clowney’s resume. Is he a bust? Are the Panthers the next ‘COVID’ tem? The latest on the AFC and NFC playoff picture and looking back at my over/under predictions. How they fare after 13 weeks?

(41:28) The college football season has been far from dramatic as the top four teams in the country are staking their claim to meet in the college football playoff on New Year’s Eve. There’s been some controversy surrounding Michigan-Ohio St. this coming weekend. I’ll discuss that, as well as, BYU falling short and could a playoff system worked during this unprecedented year?

(48:09) The NBA introduces its preseason schedule this week. There’s lot to cover, including the Russell Westbrook-John Wall trade. How will they do in their new cities? James Harden’s ‘excuse’ from the Rockets? Are the Lakers primed for a repeat? Zion Williamson’s minutes restriction lifted and much more.

(53:58) The #1 team in college basketball is already facing a COVID outbreak. What does this mean for Gonzaga and other teams moving forward during this time? Will teams be able to make up games? Will a certain amount of games played qualify for the NCAA Tournament? And Kentucky is faced with a rough start, the first of its kind in TWO decades!

(59:34) I’ll take a short trip throughout the MLB on a couple of names that have been in the news this past week (Phillies Zach Wheeler and former Cub Kyle Schwarber)

(1:01:59) The NHL is up against it as it’s trying to raise the curtain on their season in roughly five weeks. The latest between the owners and players. Are outdoor games on the agenda for the league? LA and Boston are two teams that are taking a look.

(1:06:06) Floyd Mayweather is promoting another one of these exhibition fights, this time with Jake Paul’s brother, Logan. Why this is a complete waste of time? And how your money will be best spent if you’re thinking about purchasing this pay-per-view event? You won’t want to miss that.

(1:09:40) Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.
