October is here. Which means it’s time to begin new seasons, in the middle of a couple of others and the conclusion of another where there’ll be lots of scrutiny, attention and intrigue. I’ll have it all for you right here as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(6:48) MLB will have the first ever trio of Game 3’s in the wild card round. I’ll breakdown how we got here, who will possibly move onto the Division Series and highlight the storylines involving the four teams (Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Toronto & Seattle) as play will commence on Saturday.

(39:18) NFL Week 5 kicks off with an NFC West battle between division rival San Francisco vs. LA Rams. As for the rest of the schedule? It’s actually pretty light. Also, the Browns have benched Joe Flacco with rookie QB Dillon Gabriel being promoted to starter. Do we really have to monitor when Shedeur Sanders may be able to play?

(52:14) Nothing much is brewing on the college football schedule as Week 6 is upon us.

(54:50) Minnesota Wild sniper Kirill Kaprizov is now the highest paid player in the history of the NHL as the season begins on Tuesday? If he’s worth that much, what is free agent to possibly be Connor McDavid’s asking price?

(59:32) The WNBA Finals are set as Las Vegas will face Phoenix starting tomorrow night. The bigger story is how one of its top players (and WNBA vice president of players, Napheesa Collier) has called out the commissioner, Cathy Engelbert, for displaying the ‘worst leadership’ in sports. Is she in danger of losing her job? Was Collier out of line for publicly expressing herself?

(1:10:38) Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga signs a two year deal after a stalemate between he and the team throughout the summer. Is the hatchet buried? Or is there a possibility that something else could be brewing down the road?

It’s almost time to say goodbye to September, but not before I get puh-lenty off my chest as the sports world has me cranky, tight and down right pissed off as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(10:12) The MLB marathon of a season is complete as the Wild Card round is set for tomorrow. One team that didn’t cross the finish line and qualify for the playoffs are the NY Mets. I’ll unpack their demise and future and preview the matchups to see who’ll advance to the Division Series in each league.

(51:57) Are the Baltimore Ravens is serious trouble? Not only are they 1-3, but they could be without Lamar Jackson for the foreseeable future. Plus, all of the Week 4 schedule as I’ll recap what took place. I wondering how people are feeling about Bad Bunny being the Super Bowl Halftime Act?

(1:09:39) Penn State yet again, shows why they’re paper Lions in another rough defeat at home to the Oregon Ducks. While Alabama pulls off a stunning upset vs. Georgia who hadn’t lost at home in six years.

(1:14:51) There was a bludgeoning out on the golf course at Bethpage Black for the Ryder Cup. USA were undressed and embarrassed by the Europeans in a big way as they went on to win on American soil. And don’t get me started on the fans atrocious behavior.

(1:22:52) A big regular season for the Minnesota Lynx gets flushed in Phoenix as the Mercury pull off the shocking upset in the WNBA semifinals. How did it get to this point?

(1:25:03) A major injury involving the captain of the two time defending Stanley Cup champs that could derail a possible three peat with the season just over a week from commencing.

A new season is here as autumn enters into our consciousness. Before you dust off the boots, jackets, hoodies and the like, pump up the volume to get your fill on everything that’s happening in sports as the latest podcast have arrived. On deck:

(8:44) We’re down to the final week of the MLB season. There have been a turn of events for the teams that play in Houston, Detroit and Flushing (Mets). Are all three teams in danger of missing the postseason altogether after a disastrous weekend? This is a segment you won’t want to miss as I’ll dissect what to watch for as we get set for a riveting seven days ahead.

(31:32) It was another wild NFL Sunday as the Packers surprisingly go down in Cleveland. The Eagles show why they’re defending champs in a come from behind victory over the Rams. What is going on with the Colts? And is it time for Jaxson Dart to start as the Giants are 0-3? I’ll peruse the Week 3 schedule to see what else happened over the course of yesterday’s action.

(46:44) Are the #17 ranked Indiana Hoosiers for real? They routed #9 Illinois and have their sights on back to back playoff appearances. I’ll push back on the thought and peek at what else took place in college football on Saturday.

(54:04) If the end of the first round of the WNBA playoffs was exciting, wait til you hear what happened as a big upset kicked off the semifinal round.

(58:04) With the NHL exhibition season underway, there’s a sad story coming out of Philadelphia as Flyer goaltending great, Bernie Parent passed away at the age of 80.

As the summer season starts to go off into the sunset, the latest podcast will rise with plenty of topics to discuss. On deck:

(6:28) With eleven days to go in the baseball season, the Mets are still hanging on to the final wild card spot in the NL. While an enormous series will take place in Houston over the weekend as the Mariners invade the Astros ballpark in a battle for the AL West division lead. I’ll bring you up to speed on all that’s happening, including how my over/under win totals look like for the season at the juncture.

(29:55) There have been a rash of injuries throughout the NFL with two big QB’s out (JJ McCarthy & Joe Burrow). The Week 3 schedule is looking rather light, but you have a big Monday night game (Lions at Ravens) and a NFC Divisional Round rematch from last year which should live up to the billing (Rams at Eagles). I’ll check in on what else is going on throughout the league as well.

(43:56) College football Saturday looks ok, not great, when it comes to the schedule. Are you geeked up over Texas Tech-Utah? Michigan-Nebraska? Florida-Miami? Illinois-Indiana?

(47:39) The WNBA playoffs are underway with the first round coming to a close. I’ll update you on who’s advanced and who’s left in the first round as the semifinals will begin on Sunday.

(51:07) Some quick NHL notes as Matthew Tkachuk is out until December recovering from hernia/adductor surgery. And the sad passing of former Rangers goalie, Eddie Giacomin.

Already the middle of September as I uncover all of what’s taken place and what lies ahead in the sports universe as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(6:36) Baseball is down to its final two weeks of the season. The Brewers have clinched a playoff spot. The Mariners have passed the Astros for the AL West division lead. The Mets snap a long losing streak with a much needed win in the NL Wild Card race. I’ll bring you up to speed with all that’s going on in the chase to the postseason.

(29:22) NFL Week 2 did not disappoint. Wild finishes in Dallas and Indianapolis. A ho-hum Super Bowl rematch in Kansas City. A special teams blunder that the league will soon not forget in Pittsburgh are some of the stories I’ll touch on with a Monday night doubleheader on tap.

(55:53) Can Notre Dame fight back into the discussion of the college football playoff after another loss puts them at 0-2? There were some other good games throughout the schedule on Saturday which I’ll run down.

(1:04:34) Terence Crawford is now the undisputed super middleweight champion, doing it in historic fashion over Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night. But there’s even a bigger problem for those who tried to witness this bout which must be fixed.

(1:12:05) The WNBA Playoffs are underway as all four series began yesterday. I’ll share a thought on what the first games have shown us and how it could possibly play out over the next week or so.

It’s a festive, celebratory mood in these parts. Not only doing what it is that I love, chopping it up when it comes to sports, but hitting a milestone that I couldn’t imagine six and a half years ago, so let’s get this sports podcast party started. On deck:

(6:48) This is the 500th Episode of the podcast! I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank you, the listeners/followers/subscribers and fans for your unwavering support, as well as the sponsors and guests who have been a part of this journey.

(11:39) Baseball’s season is coming down to this. Especially in the wild card races in the NL & AL. My beloved Mets won an ENORMOUS, MUST WIN (in my eyes) last night vs. the Phillies as the stage is set to clinch a wild card berth in Atlanta for three games starting tomorrow. Can they slay the demons of seasons past vs. their archrival? How about the Detroit Tigers? They now have the final spot in the AL wild card at the moment, overtaking the Twins who’ve collapsed, although just a game behind the Tigers as of today. Who will come out on top when it’s all said and done? I’ll break all of the latest playoff possibilities heading into the last week of the season. I’ll also get into Shohei Ohtani’s accomplishment of being the first player to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 stolen bases in the same year. Is this the best season by an MLB player ever? How about the historic game vs. Miami? Was that the best game played in the history of the sports? On the flip side, the Chicago White Sox have equaled the worst losing season of all time. Will they stand above the 1962 Mets sooner than later? And what happened to Nationals young star, CJ Abrams pulling an all night bender in Chicago?

(36:50) Week 3 in the NFL had some surprises (Carolina’s blowout win in Las Vegas. A 49ers collapse in LA. A no-show in Dallas by the Cowboys. Same for a Tampa Bay team where Denver ran roughshod over them.) but overall, there wasn’t a lot of excitement or riveting action throughout The Shield on Thursday night/all day Sunday. Would I trade Bryce Young as rumors have come out about teams inquiring about his services?

(55:30) The same could be said for college football Week 4. There were a couple of developments (i.e. Tennessee wins for coach Josh Heupel in Oklahoma. Michigan’s QB throws for 32 yards in a WIN. Utah hangs on to win at Oklahoma State. Arch Manning’s grade against UL-Monroe) but nothing much to write home about as we’re a third of the way into the schedule.

(1:00:32) Sixers center Joel Embiid signs a three year extension with championship expectations abound. Can he deliver considering his body hasn’t held up over the past couple of years? The WNBA playoffs are here. It’s been a hotly contested, compelling, entertaining and deserving of attention season, but unfortunately, I won’t share my thoughts on this. Don’t worry. It’s not the league. It’s yours truly. I’ll explain.

(1:07:24) A heavyweight fight took place in Wembley Stadium where Daniel DuBois disposed of Anthony Joshua in five rounds by KO.
