Low To No Super Bowl Hype? Preview Of Chiefs-Eagles. NFL HOF Class Of 2023. LeBron: Most Complete Career? KD Jumps Ship/Delusional Kyrie/Nets Questionable Owner Leads NBA! Rangers Trade For 'Tank'

It's going to be a SUPER podcast as the NFL will crown a champion, a new all time scoring leader in the NBA and a gigantic trade that could shift the balance in the Western Conference, you know I'll have plenty to dissect and disseminate as I close out the week on a strong note. On deck:

(2:45) Super Bowl LVII is just about here. I'll take the temperature of all the hype and preparation leading up to kickoff between the Chiefs and Eagles, the key points for both teams, a prediction of who'll win as we say goodbye to another NFL season. I'll get into the newly minted Hall of Fame Class of 2023 as Darrelle Revis, Joe Thomas, Ronde Barber, Demarcus Ware, Zach Thomas among others, represent a strong defensive contingent that will be enshrined in Canton later this year. Who was worthy of making the Hall? You know I've got lots to say about this. Also, the retirement of Bengals & Cardinals receiver AJ Green and Tom Brady will wait a year to join FOX as his megadeal will begin in 2024.

(35:54) LeBron James made history on Tuesday night as he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the all-time scoring leader in the NBA. Has he had the most complete career of anyone in league history? Then you had another blockbuster deal in Brooklyn right before yesterday's trade deadline. Kyrie Irving was shipped to Dallas earlier this week, then Kevin Durant was packaged with TJ Warren to Phoenix for a boatload of #1 picks, Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder. Why I'm disappointed in KD's decision, how NBA player empowerment strikes again and what his legacy could look like moving forward is something that I haven't heard anywhere else! As for Kyrie, how his comments of being disrespected by the Nets, being a selfless leader and leaving his former team in fourth place? His delusions of grandeur isn't fooling this guy! As for the Net organization (particularly the owner, Joe Tsai) my theory of a brilliant businessman doesn't mean he can lead a professional basketball team. I'll get into some of the other trades that took place (D'Angelo Russell & Mo Bamba to the Lakers, Russell Westbrook to Utah, Eric Gordon to the Clippers, James Wiseman to Detroit, et. al.) as the All-Star Break is just a week away.

(58:03) As for what's happening on the ice, the Rangers procure a former Stanley Cup winning goal scorer from St. Louis in Vladimir Tarasenko adds more punch on their frontline and championship experience in the locker room. There's been some key injuries to star players (i.e. Cale Makar, Jack Hughes and Andre Burakovsky) as they do their best to get back on the mend for the stretch run in a long regular season.

NFL Needs A Good Super Bowl To Save Their Season! No More Pro Bowl & Concussion Talk. Kyrie Era In BK & Future/NBA Turned WWE? NHL's Ratings Plunge/2nd Half Preview/Isles: All In On Horvat

February is in full swing. Although the sports world is a little light at the moment, I have some interesting nuggets to provoke some thought as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(2:48) After a brief explanation of how I'm a little (sports) cranky this morning, Super Bowl week has arrived. There isn't much to discuss at the moment. PROGRAMMING NOTE: I'll delve into my preview of the game with analysis and a prediction on Friday's podcast as I'll postpone it by a day. The few takes I'll have on the NFL are the following: how the league needs a good to great game to punctuate a rather lackluster season. The scenario regarding concussions in the sport as they went up 18% compared to last year. And the Pro Bowl? The Pro Bowl! How I did not spend one nanosecond watching this flag football exhibition as I hope you did the same!

(13:09) The Kyrie Irving tenure/saga is now officially over. He requested a trade last Friday since the organization wasn't going to re-sign him to a long term extension. The Brooklyn Nets ship him and another player to Dallas for a couple of players and three draft picks. Did the front office do the right thing? How will this chapter of Nets history be remembered? What does Kyrie's future look like in Dallas? Or elsewhere? What about Kevin Durant? What do you think he's feeling after hitching his wagon to Brooklyn with Kyrie? As for what's happened on the court, we've had a couple of incidents that's reminiscent of WWE? Thursday night, Cavaliers Donovan Mitchell gets into it with Grizzlies Dillon Brooks (NBA's Public Enemy #1 at the moment) as the latter was suspended for a game. A night later, Magic's Mo Bamba and Timberwolves Austin Rivers got into a scrum to where they were both suspended (four games for Bamba, three for Rivers) for their actions. Steph Curry will be on the shelf until at least after the All-Star Break. He suffered partial tears to ligaments in his knee on Saturday night vs. the Mavericks. Even with this injury, I think the Warriors are toast this year.

(34:20) The All-Star Break in the NHL has come and gone. I'll share why I did not watch or get into this version of the game in South Florida. I'll explain a couple of reasons why viewership is down more than 20%, even WITH games being broadcast on ESPN/ABC & TNT. I'll preview the 'second half' as the East is top heavy at the moment (i.e. Bruins & Hurricanes) while out West it's as wide open as we've seen in some time. Plus, the Islanders not only get the goal scorer they desperately need (i.e. Bo Horvat) but they've signed him to a long term deal. Is there a lot of pressure for the new acquisition to not only succeed, but to fulfill his large contract?

(50:40) Purdue is the latest team in the nation to get bounced from the ranks of being #1 as this unpredictable, topsy-turvy college basketball season (which is one I'd rather have, than to have the usual North Carolina, Duke and Kentucky ruling the top of the sport) continues to surprise us, day in and day out.

Bills Hold Breath On QB Allen's Elbow. New Sherriff In Indy. Another Weak NFL Sunday. The Spotlight Is On TCU. Nets Hire Right Guy. Break Up The Jazz! NJ/NYI Top Metro Division. College Hoops Is Back!

With baseball now complete, we can zero in on the fall & winter sports as I'll have all of the latest and greatest with what's happening through the landscape. On deck:

(3:25) As the second half of the NFL season approaches, Western New York is waiting with bated breath on the right elbow of Bills QB Josh Allen. It's uncertain if he'll start this Sunday against the Vikings as he suffered a UCL injury in the final moments vs. the Jets. What this could mean, not just for the AFC but for the rest of this season if he is compromised or, dare I say, unable to play because of it? I'll also get into the controversial hire in Indianapolis as Colts great Jeff Saturday, who has never coached on any level, succeeds Frank Reich as they try to get back to respectability. Then there's the Week 10 schedule which is nothing to write home about in an already abominable first half.

(21:26) A quiet week on the college football schedule is set for Saturday, except for one game. #4 ranked TCU visits #18 Texas in the biggest game for the school in ages. Will they continue to stay undefeated and keep themselves in the conversation for the College Football playoff?

(29:15) The Brooklyn Nets did the right thing by hiring interim coach, Jacque Vaughn on a full time basis. There would've been tremendous backlash if they were going to hire who many people thought was going to be the next coach in Ime Udoka. What is going on with the Utah Jazz as they've been by far the biggest surprise in the NBA to date. I'll take a look at some other surprises and disappointments (i.e. Warriors & Heat) as the first month of the season is almost in the books.

(39:57) Who would've thought both the Devils and Islanders are the top two teams in the Metropolitan Division at this point? I'll get into Evander Kane's gruesome injury, another return for Jack Eichel in Buffalo as his Golden Knights not only have an eight game winning streak, but have the best record in the sport. The Blues are in the midst of a similar streak but on the losing end. Is coach Craig Berube on the hot seat? I'll take a trip around the ice in the NHL to see what else is happening as one month of the season is completed.

(47:43) Don't look now, but college basketball is back. I'll go over who the top teams are in the country and break up the Hoyas, as Georgetown snapped its 21 game losing streak with a win over Coppin St.

Astros Dynamic, But Dynastic? NFL Abomination At Halfway Point. Georgia Shows Who's #1 As Clemson & 'Bama Fall. NBA Soap Opera: As The Nets Burn! Bruins Pressured To Cut Prospect?

The first podcast of November delivers a lot of sports heat as I’ve got lots to get off my chest on this latest edition. On deck:

(3:40) The Houston Astros have finally reached the MLB mountaintop after losing in 2019 and last year as they capture their second title in six years. I'll recap the final four games of the series. Are they a modern baseball dynasty? As for the Phillies, there were two moves by the manager, Rob Thomson, that'll make you question well into the winter of what could've been if he didn't pull his starters in Games 4 & 6. Now that the World Series is complete, we can focus in on free agency. The Mets have re-signed closer Edwin Diaz to a record breaking contract. Was he worth the nine figure deal?

(28:19) If you've listened to me over the weeks, months and years, you know I call it like I see it. As we approach the midway point of the NFL season, I wasn't going to wait another week to make this official. The first nine weeks have been an ABOMINATION! I go into great detail as to why that's the case and how this has been a season to forget. I'll share my thoughts on some of the key trades made at the deadline last week, the sale of the Washington Commanders, and the untimely deaths of Hall of Fame punter, Ray Guy. As well as, one time Hog of the Redskins offensive line, Dave Butz.

(47:26) Georgia showed the nation who's the #1 team in college football. They suffocated the Tennessee Volunteers offense as they shut down their high octane offense on Saturday. There was also a huge loss by the Clemson Tigers as they get bounced by Notre Dame and Alabama loses their second game of the year, and in all likelihood, a shot at the college football playoff. I'll take a look at the college landscape as to who'll be in the running to play in the Final Four come New Year's Eve.

(54:08) The NBA has a full blown soap opera that's running 24/7 it seems. It's called the Brooklyn Nets. The past week exemplified how from one day to the next, they've become a daily TV drama. From the firing of coach Steve Nash, to the rumors of signing former assistant and Celtics coach, Ime Udoka, the controversy surrounding Kyrie Irving posting on social media about a film with anti-semetic themes which led to a five game suspension, have made this franchise a three ring circus yet again. I'll talk about how well the Cavaliers have played after losing the first game and are on an eight game winning streak.

(1:04:56) The Bruins averted a public relations disaster as they signed, then released 2020 prospect Mitchell Miller, who was convicted of bullying and racially abusing a kid many years ago. Was this justified? The Penguins have hit the skids as they're mired in a seven game losing streak. Does Sidney Crosby and company still have what it takes to be an elite team? And congratulations on another goal scoring milestone to Alexander Ovechkin becoming the all time leader in goals scored for one franchise at 787.

No September Pennant Race Drama? A Jumbled 2023 MLB Schedule. Dana White's Tom Brady Story Is Two Years Late! KD On Board In Brooklyn. What About Kyrie? Islanders Offseason Ineptitude

The final week of the month has arrived and so has the latest edition as there are some interesting storylines percolating in the sports world. On deck:

(5:11) The pennant races in baseball may not have a lot of drama heading into September as I recap the division and wild card chase to date. The Yankees look to get out of a six week malaise with a trip to Oakland and Anaheim upcoming as they've won three in a row. The Mets have the Braves breathing down their neck in the only race worth noting. Should there be concern if Atlanta overtakes the NL East at some point? Why did the Mets skip Jacob deGrom's start vs. the Yankees. I'll also discuss the apology by Fernando Tatis Jr. as he's in the middle of an 80 game suspension. And what about the 2023 schedule? Based on what I've seen, yours truly isn't a fan of it. I'll explain why.

(28:41) We're two weeks away from the start of a new NFL season. I'm sure many of you are psyched and pumped up for your Sundays being occupied with wall to wall football. What I wasn't psyched about was UFC chairman, Dana White, breaking a story on how Tom Brady was close to signing with the Las Vegas Raiders back in the 2020 offseason. Why bring this up now? Is this even a story? I'll also chime in on some news throughout the league (Baker Mayfield starting in Carolina), as well as, remembering Len Dawson. The Chiefs QB going back to the 1960's, who died at the age of 87.

(35:19) Kevin Durant agrees to move forward with the Nets as they try to come out from the rubble of his trade request earlier this summer. But there's one dynamic that needs to be addressed, in my opinion, if this upcoming season were to be one that can lead to a championship. What were the Lakers thinking acquiring Patrick Beverley? Did they not know about the history between he and Russell Westbrook? This has the makings of a disaster!

(45:30) I'm not too happy with the direction that the New York Islanders have taken this offseason. It was capped off by the team, who was rumored to sign former Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri, instead signs a long term deal with the Calgary Flames. What is going on with GM Lou Lamiorello as he continues to sit on his hands and do nothing to improve this team, who didn't make the playoffs this past season.

Celtics-Nets Thriller Highlight NBA Round 1 Weekend. Hot Mets Start Leads To Early Test. Remembering Mike Bossy/No Drama In NHL Wild Card Chase. Notable NFL Signings

Sports talk delivered the way it should be. Passionate, fiery, spirited, knowledgeable and entertaining as well as the latest installment of the podcast is ready for consumption. On deck:

(3:01) The NBA postseason is off and running. Not a stellar weekend overall, but you had the two play-in games (Atlanta-Cleveland, New Orleans-LA Clippers) that were entertaining. And then the epic Game 1 showdown between Brooklyn-Boston which proved to be the highlight of the eight games on Saturday and Sunday. I'll dissect the key moments in that game, what the long term affect could be for both teams in this series and beyond and go around the Association to fill you in on all of the Game 1's as the road to the NBA Finals has begun.

(31:38) The Mets have gotten off to a very good start winning their first three series, going 7-3. Upcoming is an early season test as the San Francisco Giants invade Citi Field for three games to see where they stand against one of the better teams in the NL. The Braves will visit Chavez Ravine and see an old face in a new uniform (i.e. Freddie Freeman) as they meet for the first time since last years' NLCS. Angels manager, Joe Maddon made a strange move in a game vs. Texas as he always tries to 'outsmart' his opponent, but they're off to a good start in this early part of the season.

(39:51) The NHL is down to its final week and a half of games, but the sport lost a legendary scorer on a championship dynasty as Islander great, Mike Bossy, passed away due to lung cancer at the age of 65. I'll touch on some of the highlights of his wonderful career and bring you up to speed if there is going to be any drama in the wild card or division races as we get to the homestretch.

(45:38) Football wraps up the final segment as there was a couple of notable signings (CB Stephon Gilmore to Indy and WR Sammy Watkins to Green Bay) And a terrible incident involving Cowboys CB, Kelvin Joseph as the league has to deal with more news off the field than on.

(49:09) In conclusion, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Suns, Nets, Harden & The Opening Of The NBA Playoffs. Kershaw Robs Us Of Perfection. Vlad Jr.'s Exploits. NHL's Wild Card Homestretch. Derek Carr's No-Trade Clause? Baker Disrespected?

The upcoming holiday weekend has plenty of sports on the docket. I'll share what lies ahead and look back as to what's transpired as I take you through the universe on all that's happening. On deck:

(2:48) The NBA Playoffs are on the horizon as we're just about through the play-in tournament. I'll dissect all that has taken place to this point, what to expect in the final play in games (i.e. ATL-CLE & NO-LAC) tomorrow night and peek in on the opening weekend playoff slate, with predictions of who'll win. As well as, some very intriguing storylines circling around the Phoenix Suns, the Brooklyn Nets and James Harden & the Sixers.

(39:09) Dodgers P Clayton Kershaw pitched an absolute gem vs. the Twins where he was perfect through seven innings. I'll explain why he robbed us of a potential historic moment? The exploits of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (and why he should've won the MVP over Shohei Ohtani last year?), the slow start for Yankees P Gerrit Cole and how the Mets bounced back nicely after a typical brutal loss on Monday to win a series in Philadelphia.

(49:05) The NHL is getting into the homestretch of their regular season. The Avalanche and Panthers have played at a torrid clip recently and could be on a collision course to a Stanley Cup Final. There's still plenty of hockey to be played as I'll review which teams are still in the hunt for the wild card in each conference as we're just fifteen days away from the conclusion of the 82 game schedule.

(53:30) Derek Carr signs an extension with the Las Vegas Raiders, but a no-trade clause? Also, Baker Mayfield just can't shut up as he said recently on a podcast that he's been 'disrespected' in Cleveland. Where will he be shipped to? And when?

Ram Tough As Super Win Cements McVay, Stafford Trade & Donald's Legacy. Harden/Simmons Swap & Benefits. NHL's Oilers Wake Up Call. MLB's Spring: On The Clock!

On this day filled with romance, flowers and candy, it's a sports lovefest on this Valentine's Day as Episode #238 has plenty of hearts and cupid arrows (and maybe some black roses) to dish out. On deck:

(4:45) A Super ultra, mega recap of the big game last night as the Rams squeak out a Super Bowl victory in the final moments out at So-Fi Stadium vs. the Bengals. I'll highlight the talk surrounding Sean McVay (the win/his coaching future), Matthew Stafford (cementing the trade to LA/Hall of Fame legacy?) and Aaron Donald (big game production, possible retirement?). As for the Bengals themselves, another bitter Super Bowl loss in their franchise's history, the Logan Wilson 'hold' and a full deep dive of this game. From Odell Beckham Jr.'s injury, the non-call on Tee Higgins's TD catch, the game defining drive by McVay, Stafford and Cooper Kupp, and much more. I'll also touch on the Halftime show (good, not great) the commercials (another Peacock ad?) lackluster 2022 Hall of Fame class, new coaching hires in New Orleans and Houston, more off the field transgressions from players (Alvin Kamara, Adrian Peterson) and is the Kyler Murray/Arizona Cardinal marriage on the rocks?

(48:25) The NBA had an eventful trade deadline with the highlight being the blockbuster between James Harden and Ben Simmons. Which team will benefit from this deal in the short term? Long term? Plus, other deals that were impactful throughout the league.

(1:02:52) The college basketball season will start to pick up as we're less than a month away from Selection Sunday. Auburn will drop out of the top spot in the country as the sport is wide open as to who'll rise to the top come March.

(1:04:59) There were a couple of coaching changes in the NHL, but the big one comes in Edmonton as the Oilers look to get themselves right and have a big postseason run that many expect. Will this be the boost that they need to become a threat out in the West? Also, I'll spend a minute on the Brad Marchand suspension. How does he get away with his repeated actions on the ice?

(1:10:50) As for the MLB, we're still on hold on whether the 2022 season will start on time. What about spring training? Where do we stand as of today? Some sad deaths of former players in the sport (Gerald Williams & Jeremy Giambi) and Trevor Bauer isn't charged for the allegations over rough sexual intercourse with a woman out in California. Will he be suspended by baseball? Will he be back on the Dodgers once the CBA comes to pass?

(1:19:04) And to close out, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Islanders Strike Lightning With Finals In Sight! Crisis Time For Nash/Nets? MLB's Crackdown On Pitchers? Is Djokovic The GOAT? Mickelson's Elusive Chase For US Open Title: A Preview

With summer just days away, it’s synonymous with the sports world as it’s blazing a trail with lots to get into. You’ve come to the right place for in-depth analysis and opinions as Episode 198 is primed and ready for takeoff. On deck:

(5:39) The Stanley Cup Playoffs have moved onto the Final Four. The Islanders meet up with a familiar foe as the Tampa Bay Lightning are again, standing in their path to a Cup Final. What do they need to do in order to pull off the upset? I’ll also preview the Canadiens-Golden Knights series as it commences later this evening (Monday 6/14)

(26:15) Not a whole lot of drama in the NBA Playoffs (unless you’re the Brooklyn Nets), but first, the Suns punched their ticket to the Western Conference Finals as they sweep the MVP of the league (Nikola Jokic) and the disappointing Nuggets. I’ll discuss their meteoric rise, Chris Paul’s resurgence, as well as, Donovan Mitchell’s Jazz a couple of wins away from meeting CP3. Is Mitchell the greatest Jazz player ever? EVER?! Is it time to panic if you’re Steve Nash and the Nets? Will there be a James Harden sighting? Will Kyrie Irving return? Can Kevin Durant will his team to the next round? Also, the Sixers are in cruise control, a belated mention on the retirement of Duke’s Coach K and some rumors as to a candidate for the next coaching job of the Celtics.

(50:00) The MLB could be ready for some pitchers getting warned and ejected as the crackdown of pitchers using foreign substances may take place this week. I’ll get into Gerrit Cole’s admission (or lack thereof) on whether he uses something to doctor the ball. Pete Alonso’s factual theory of baseballs being juiced for players in their free agent walk year. Jacob deGrom’s brilliance on display, yet again! The Rays stay hot, the Angels in the AL West mix? The Brewers and Cubs trending north, while the Cards head south. The Giants standing pat in a crowded NL West bunch with the rival Padres and Dodgers.

(1:05:27) Some NFL news comes down the pike as to Deshaun Watson telling a former teammate where he wants to play, Jordan Love getting some major reps with Aaron Rodgers skipping mandatory OTA’s, former NY Giants coach, Jim Fassel passes away and the College Football Playoff devising a plan to extend the format to 12 teams? I have a different plan altogether.

(1:11:02) Novak Djokovic wins the French Open and is halfway to a calendar Grand Slam? Can he do it? Is he already the GOAT?

(1:19:42) On the heels of winning the PGA, Phil Mickelson will ride the momentum to the US Open to shoot for that elusive championship. I’ll preview who may be at the top of the leaderboard and the juicy storyline of the Bryson DeChambeau-Brooks Koepka rivalry.

(1:24:52) Some thoughts on the Denmark soccer player, Christian Eriksen, who collapsed during a Euro 2020 game this past week.

(1:26:02) Of course, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

The Hunt For Red October/MLB Postseason Preview, Trolling Yankee Fans. Mets: Is Mickey Out? NFL WK 4 Takeaways. NHL '19-'20, Kyrie's 'I Failed' Comment

Closing out the month of September in grand fashion as Episode 93 will not disappoint when it comes what I have to say about what’s happening in the world of sports. On deck:

The MLB Postseason begins with the NL & AL Wild Card games on Tuesday and Wednesday. I’ll tell you who’ll move on to face the Dodgers and Astros respectively. I’ll also take an early look into the Division Series to preview what lies ahead for the Cardinals-Braves and Twins-Yankees. Plus, I have a message for Yankee fans out there, who had a few things to say about Pete Alonso breaking Aaron Judge’s rookie home run record from two years ago. You WON’T want to miss that! I’ll share a couple of thoughts about the Mets closing out their season in dramatic fashion and the future of Mickey Callaway as manager of the team.

NFL Week 4 was another crazy, unpredictable week if you’re in Tampa or LA (Rams), Cleveland, Oakland and Carolina. I’ll get into the top storylines of the week, look ahead to Week 5 and I’m still alive in my knockout pool as I’ll have a prediction for you as well.

The NHL & NBA seasons are upon us. The puck drops around the league on Wednesday as I’ll chime in on a few things, including my Stanley Cup prediction. And media day took place last week, with Brooklyn Nets G Kyrie Irving had a few interesting things to say about his former club in Boston.

I’ll have all of that and my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Gerald Brown of Sirius XM NBA Radio on NBA Free Agency. Kawhi & The Latest Player Empowerment Angle, OKC Dismantling? MLB Storylines At The Break, NHL Free Agency, Coco's Rise At Wimbledon

Episode 79 delivers all of the latest and greatest in the world of sports. On deck:

Kawhi Leonard chooses LA, but not the Lakers! How the latest player empowerment movement impacts the Association as Paul George tag teams with the NBA Finals MVP? What does OKC do with Russell Westbrook in the aftermath of this deal? (Knick fans: Don't even think about it!)

As MLB hits the break, what we can possibly expect over the course before the trade deadline and the second half of the season. I'll also deep dive on the Mets and Yankees and what lies ahead for both franchises.

On a lesser scale, the NHL free agency period was chock full of signings. The Rangers get their man, while the Islanders are still scrambling for a sniper. I'll get into all of the major free agents and where they've ended up to this point.

Fifteen year old Coco Gauff has been the story at Wimbledon to date. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to get past former #1 Simona Halep. as chase for a championship comes to a close. Could this be the next rising star in tennis? What does this mean moving forward?

Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

(59:57) My guest is host of Sirius XM's The Bottom Line Sports Show on NBA Radio, Gerald Brown as we discuss the craziness of the NBA offseason. The impact of what took place in Brooklyn as opposed to the Garden. Why Knick fans shouldn't get wrapped up in what the Nets are doing? Best signing this offseason? Head scratcher? And lots more.

Brooklyn's In The House! Knicks Come Up Short & NBA Free Agency Whirlwind, Yankees London Calling, Mets Sky Falling & More

Kicking off the first day of July with more fireworks than the Fourth as Episode 78 brings plenty of bottle rockets, booms and blasts with the following:

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving sign with the Brooklyn Nets. What does this mean for this upcoming season minus KD? The 2020-21 season? Also, I leave a small verbal note to the newly minted Nets fan.

The Knicks fall short of their pursuit of the two big guns. Why that’s not a bad thing? And why the contracts of the recent players they signed benefits for the short and long term? Also, James Dolan’s impact on why the Garden isn’t the ‘Mecca’ like it once was.

The Yankees bopped their way overseas to two large victories over their heated rivals. What’s the next step for this team as it heads into the All-Star Break and the trade deadline 30 days away?

The Mets are crawling into the All-Star Break after another gut-wrenching week. What the Mets have to look forward to, not only this week with the Yankees coming into their building, but for the remainder of the year if they want any relevance this summer?

Nets On The Brink, Embiid's Clown Act, Celtics Sweep, NBA First Round Snooze. Islanders Waiting, NFL Draft Week, Yankees Surviving, Mets Stumbling

The best sports month of the year never disappoints as I’ll zip through the sports landscape in fast and furious fashion on this edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The Brooklyn Nets have hung tough but have fallen short against the heavily favored Philadelphia 76ers. I’ll revisit their last three games, do they have a shot at bringing this series back to Brooklyn? And I must get into the antics of a one, Joel Embiid, whose postgame comments and in game behavior is starting to wear on me. This is one segment you won’t want to miss out on as I believe this will catch up to him in the long run. I’ll take a look back on how the Celtics had a rough go of it for a four game sweep vs. the Indiana Pacers and breeze through the rest of the NBA playoff brackets as there’s very little drama surrounding the first round of the tournament. The Islanders have secured their first four game sweep of a playoff series since they’ve won the Stanley Cup back in 1983. Up next, is either Washington or Carolina as they Capitals are currently up 3-2 in their series. Will the long layoff help or hurt the Islanders in the second round? I’ll have that, plus a more drama filled postseason on the ice than the hardwood as we have two, and a potential three, Game 7’s on the horizon. The NFL Draft is days away. Both the Jets and Giants have prominent roles as they respectively have the 3rd and 6th picks overall. What will they do? What should they do? I’ll deliver my take on who they should draft as we inch closer to the first round on Thursday. I’ll also share a bit on the upcoming NFL schedules of the locals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cleveland Browns and their FOUR primetime games and much more. The Yankees have suffered another key injury, this time to their best player, Aaron Judge, but the beat goes on as they win five of their last six at home as they embark on a West Coast trip. Will they continue to tread water? Fall deeper in the AL East standings? As for the Mets, they limp home losing four of five and six of ten on their ten game road trip. What are biggest problem for the Amazins’ early season failures? You’ll be surprised at who are some of the culprits as to the Mets stumbling over the past week. Are there reinforcements coming? You’ll definitely want to listen to what I have to say regarding these issues, and a whole lot more on this weeks episode of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 66)

Tiger's Redemption, Isles/CBJ Domination, Nets/ORL Surprises, Yankees Panic Button? Mets Lose Series Win in ATL

April continues to sizzle as there is much to cover in the sports world on this edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The unthinkable has happened! Eldrick ‘Tiger’ Woods has made it back to golf’s mountaintop with a cool, calm and collected final round to win his fifth green jacket at The Masters and his 15th major tournament overall. I’ll detail Tiger’s historic Sunday, what this means moving forward and is there another major title on the horizon in 2019? The New York Islanders are one win away from sweeping the Pittsburgh Penguins out of the playoffs. I’ll recap how effective and dominant they’ve been against their division rivals and can they break out the brooms? Or will it go back to the Island for a Game 5? Speaking of sweeps, who would’ve thought the Tampa Bay Lightning would be one game away from being sent home after their 62 win/128 point regular season? I’ll discuss that and the rest of what’s going on in the NHL as we get deeper into round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. How about the Brooklyn Nets? They went into Philadelphia and stole Game 1, with Game 2 looming this evening. Do they have a shot to win this series? Or was that just a fluke? You’ll get my take on their chances, the Orlando Magic making a statement in Game 1 vs. Toronto,  the Celtics ugly but effective win and the rest of the opening playoff weekend in the NBA. Is it time to panic in the Bronx if you’re the Yankees? They’re sure underachieving, but the injuries continue to mount, especially with their top players. I’ll review the week that was and what lies ahead for the Bombers as the defending champion Red Sox come to town this week. Also, the Mets started off with a bang in Atlanta only to cool off by losing the back two games of their four game series to the Braves. Now it’s onto Philadelphia as they’ll face Bryce Harper & company for the first time this year. I’ll check in on the good (Pete Alonso), the bad (Jacob deGrom’s last two starts) and the ugly (the bullpen, minus Edwin Diaz)  on the Amazins’ as their ten game road trip continues. I’ll chirp in on all of the above and then some, on a jam packed mid-April show you won’t want to miss on this weeks installment of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 65)

The stage is set for the big game in two weeks. I’m here to provide how both the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots got there, plus all of the latest in the world of sports on this edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The NFL hit a grand slam on Championship Sunday with epic overtime games in New Orleans & Kansas City. The Rams were able to eke out an win, but not without controversy. The officials admittedly blew a key third down call late in the game that will have lasting effects throughout the offseason. You’ll get my take on why that call wasn’t the reason the Saints lost and why pass interference calls should NOT be reviewed. The Patriots do it again. They’ve made their fourth Super Bowl in five years, five in eight and nine in eighteen during the Brady/Belichick era. I’ll share what put the Pats over the top and how Brady’s magic and Belichick’s mastery sealed another trip to the Super Bowl. Also, what this loss means for the Chiefs moving forward?
