The 'Not Too High or Too Low' Theme From NFL Week 1, Except? Steelers 'Not Ready For Primetime', Mets 'Not Ready For Postseason' Tirades, MLB Wild Card Latest, Rafa Wins, Serena Loses AGAIN at US Open

I'm in a feisty, awful sports mood, so hide the women and children, because Episode 90 promises to be full of smoke and fire. On deck:

In fourteen NFL cities this morning, either they're setting up the Super Bowl parade route or ready to draft for the number one pick. But there are two excpetions. I'll explain. I'll also go around the league and assess the damage up in Foxborough as the Steelers no showed vs. the Patriots.

The Mets have put their postseason hopes in the trash after a brutal loss in Washington and losing two out of three vs. Philadelphia. Mickey Callaway may have seen his managerial position go out the window with some very questionable moves this week. I have plenty of ammunition on this and I'll also recap the latest in the AL & NL Wild Card races.

Rafael Nadal has inched closer in his quest to catch Roger Federer for most Mens' Grand Slam titles. Serena Williams has now lost back to back Wimbledon and US Open Finals as she's stuck on 23 Grand Slam victories. Hear my take on both legendary figures and what may lie ahead in 2020 now that the Tennis Slams are done for the year.

Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

You’re going to get an earful of sound bites from yours truly as I have a ton to say about all of what took place over the weekend AND what lies ahead for the disgruntled former All-Pro, the Steelers and the Raiders as well. The NFL year commences on Wednesday with plenty of moves on the docket. I’ll get into some of the major player movements that have taken place and what could be on the horizon throughout the league. The Yankees have a major issue to deal with at the top of their pitching rotation as Luis Severino will be out indefinitely with rotator cuff inflammation. The Knicks continue their quest for finishing with the worst record in the NBA. But they’re making news off the court thanks to their owner, James Dolan. As most of the country is celebrating a long holiday weekend, start your Monday off catching up with all that’s shaking down in the world of sports on this weeks edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The NBA All-Star Weekend is in the books so now we’ll focus on what lies ahead for the rest of this season. Will the Bucks hold the top spot in the East? Can the Raptors secure the #1 seed for the second year in the row? Do the Celtics have a big run in them? Can the Lakers make a push into the top eight in the West? Can anyone dethrone Golden State? Those questions and much more will be answered by yours truly as the Association commences their ‘second half’ on Thursday. The Antonio Brown/Pittsburgh Steelers soap opera has added another twist as the disgruntled WR is requesting a trade out of Pittsburgh. You’ve heard my thoughts on past podcasts about this, but there’s another layer to this never ending saga. Hear what I have to say about how the front office should handle this and how this move can actually make the team come together and be better as a whole. There’s a potential standoff rising in Flushing as Jacob deGrom and his agent are looking for a long term payday, but the Mets aren’t quick to pull the trigger because the reigning Cy Young Award winner still has two years left before he’s a free agent. I’ll share my take on what needs to be done and how this deal may possibly make or break this team for years to come. Also, some thoughts on the NHL as teams will start to buy or sell with the trade deadline a week away, Colin Kaepernick and the NFL have settled and Duke rises back to number one in the country. You’ll have all of this and a little more on this weeks episode of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 55)
