Another major snowstorm in a month isn’t going to stop me as the last week of February and the latest podcast is here, detailing all that’s happening in sports. On deck:

(3:39) I had to take a second to discuss about the Blizzard of 2026 in NYC as we have to dig out of another storm before we get to the month of March.

(5:04) The USA Men’s Hockey Team did it. They won their first gold medal since the Miracle on Ice back in 1980, defeating Canada 2-1 in OT. Despite the win, there’s a bit of a stain in my eyes as to how it was won, which quite a few people share the same sentiment. I’ll also put a bow on the Olympic Games as it wrapped up last night, with the next stop in France four years from now.

(18:58) That’ll lead me into the hockey as the season will resume on Wednesday. I’ll take a look into what could possibly transpire over the next two months as we get set for a sprint to the Stanley Cup Playoffs from here on out.

(34:52) The NBA is in full swing after the All-Star Break. I’ll go over some of the key games over the weekend and peek at the schedule this week as there are some interesting games forthcoming for the Detroit Pistons.

(42:25) College basketball had a huge weekend with the top four teams going at it against one another. I’ll recap Michigan-Duke and Arizona-Houston as the sport heats up with their biggest month just one week away.

(48:03) MLB’s exhibition season has begun, but overall things are quiet in the sport. There was some sad news coming out of the weekend as Pirates legend Bill Mazeroski died at the age of 89.

You can’t keep the sports world down as February keeps on swinging with plenty of action to unpack by yours truly. On deck:

(5:01) The final third of the NBA season resumes tonight. I’ll take a look into my crystal ball to see how the next two months will unfold, which teams have a legitimate shot to win the title and all of the latest news to prepare you for this sprint to the playoffs.

(34:00) College basketball is starting to heat up as we’re exactly one month away from the beginning of the NCAA Tournament. I’ll delve into some big wins (Michigan) and losses (UCONN & JT Toppin’s ACL tear) for some of the top ranked teams in the nation.

(38:08) The Winter Olympics are down to its final few days. Where do we stand with the ice hockey as we look forward to a Clash of the Titans between the US-Canada? Also, how was won medals in some of the other events that have taken place?

(50:11) There’s a shift in the players union for MLB. Tony Clark resigns amid scandal, while Bruce Meyer is the interim executive director. Will a new leader be appointed some time soon? I have a wild prediction on who could possible be next in line? More importantly, how does this impact the negotiation with the CBA expiring in December?

(1:05:24) Cuts and restructuring of contracts are starting to take into shape for the NFL’s offseason as the Dolphins let go of Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb, while the Chiefs restructure the contract of Patrick Mahomes. Is a Hill/Chiefs reunion forthcoming? Plus, the 49ers have another international game on their schedule?

With a handful of days left in the month and a celebration coming at the end of the week, you know I’m excited to share what lies ahead in the sports world and the podcast, so thanks for stopping by to consume it all as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(6:42) I’m pumped to share and remind everyone about the seventh anniversary of the podcast this Saturday, which will be a LIVESTREAM on YouTube. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled for more information as we get closer to March 1st.

(7:12) It was a big week for the NHL with the success of the 4 Nations Face-Off I’m sure it was more than what the commissioner could’ve ever expected. Will there be any carryover as the season has resumed? Alex Ovechkin is now a bakers dozen away from passing Wayne Gretzky on the all time goal scoring list. Will he do it before the season is over? It’s time to dissect the Wild Card races in both the East and West. And with the trade deadline just ten days away, it should be a busy week as teams will look for reinforcements as we get to the final third of the season.

(28:19) On the hardwood, you have to be heavily concerned about the NY Knicks. They not only lost, but they were destroyed out of the All-Star Break losing big to Cleveland and Boston on the road. Are they missing a certain ingredient? Are they title worthy? Things aren’t looking up in San Antonio as phenom Victor Wembanyama will sit out the rest of the season with a blood clot, while coach Gregg Popovich won’t return as he’s recovering from a stroke. What will the Sixers do with Joel Embiid? Surgery on his knee? Just rest? The conundrum is that they are STILL in the playoff mix even though they’re 14 games under .500. I’ll see what else is popping in the Association (Luka Doncic ready to take off after his biggest game as a Laker on Saturday night) as things seem to be quiet overall.

(49:06) College basketball is waiting to bask in the month of March, because things have been rather low key over the past few days. Although there were a few upsets (Miss St., Missouri, Texas A&M) and St. John’s win vs. UConn, there isn’t much to discuss.

(52:05) MLB Spring Training has begun. Juan Soto hits a HR in his first at-bat. A sign of things to come for the new Met right fielder? Yankees extend Aaron Boone for two more years, and have also raised the ban on facial hair, but what about hair length? Then you have MLB & ESPN mutually agreeing to part ways after the ’25 season, with three years left on their deal. Where will MLB go next?

(1:00:23) Lastly, the NFL had some news where there was a retirement (Cowboys Zach Martin) and two hirings of note (JAX GM James Gladstone and NO DC Brandon Staley, who reconnects with Kellen Moore)

Almost done with another week, but not before I share my thoughts on anything and everything that’s happening throughout the sports universe as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(6:30) The ’second half’ of the NBA begins in earnest tonight as the schedule picks up after the All-Star Break. I’ll look into my crystal ball to see how the next two months will play out. Will OKC go on a deep playoff run? Are you a believer in the Cavaliers getting to an NBA Finals? How much pressure is on LeBron and Luka to get the Lakers back to the championship round? There are plenty of questions to get answered as I prepare you for what to expect over the last two third of the season.

(33:40) College basketball is starting to heat up. Alabama suffers another loss, after being defeated by Auburn last weekend. Is this just a speed bump as they get toward the month of March? Number one ranked Auburn avoids a scare against Arkansas to keep their top ranking in the nation. Kansas continues to be an enigma, losing to unranked BYU by 34, the third worst loss in school history. I’ll see what the schedule has on tap this weekend as we’re exactly one month away from the NCAA Tournament.

(39:28) It should be a battle to witness as the 4 Nations Face-Off concludes with a title game tonight. Will Team USA & Team Canada have a carbon copy of fisticuffs similar to their first game on Saturday night? How will this play out? I’ll also take a lay of the NHL landscape as to how the ‘second half’ will unfold? Are the Jets and Capitals Cup worthy? Can Florida repeat? Will Edmonton get back to a final? I’ll have it all for you as the season reconvenes on Saturday.

(55:30) MLB Spring Training is in full swing. One player that has thoughts of a big payday is Blue Jays 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He & his camp were unable to come up with an extension prior to Monday’s deadline. What’s next? And what will he get on the market? I’ll have some news on Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Frankie Montas, Rafael Devers/Alex Bregman and the system when it comes to payroll in the sport.

(1:01:36) The NFL is at it again. They’ve announced that the Chargers will be the home team for the second game in Sao Paolo to start off the year. Was this necessary to announce just ten days after the Super Bowl? Couldn’t they have waited?
